Piko Piko is a Metroidvania adventure sidescroller game with classic platforming elements like you’d expect from an action platformer.

The game has you playing as Piko- a red-haired anime girl with a giant hammer. She’s out to bash up some baddies by smashing, shooting, and blasting them to bits!

Piko Piko has all the traditional action platformer elements you’re accustomed to. You’re on an adventure to discover why your world is shaking like crazy with these unforeseen earth tremors. What’s there do to other than grabbing her trusty hammer? She takes it and is on her way to find out what’s going on. The storyline is basic, but it works.

It plays similar to old-school platformers with just tons of enemies littered all over the level. There are tons of enemies that range from quick-moving Segway-like characters to commanders in pixelated tanks. There are also a few NPCs you can chat with that have that weird Nintendo chat dialog.

The game is also very random. Some levels have you so immersed in the weird things that are happening and you won’t predict what’s going to happen next. The game is full of surprises that you’ll never expect and your reaction will be priceless. It’s got cute girls, lots of secrets, and even a living background. Everything is hand-drawn so it looks gorgeous.

There’s also a lot of narrative humor and giant bosses to take down!

Piko Piko is a currently available for download as a demo even though it’s still very early in development. It’s a cute little game with stylish artwork, nonstop platforming action, and very, very weird and random dialog. Worth checking out if you’re into platformers and looking for some laughs.
