Overnight is a narrative horror game that’s similar to Do You Copy? because of the fact that the game takes place in the forest in a watch tower. And you’re a park ranger who gets the hint that there’s a killer on the loose.

You’re a war veteran who’s suffering from the effects of PTSD and now you’re a retired park ranger. Your simple day job has turned into a live manhunt as you’re informed that a killer is somewhere in your forest that you’re overwatching from a watch tower. The game almost feels like a Do You Copy? clone, but it does have a few things going for it that makes it slightly different. The game is a lot more st0ry-driven in the fact that you need to explore some dangerous areas with just a small flashlight and nothing else on you!

Without spoiling the game, you should try it out if you enjoyed Do You Copy?. Without the extra entity you’re guiding and just being alone, it’s a whole different experience. I wouldn’t say it’s as scary, but a lot more explorative and story-oriented.

Indagar is a first-person horror game that has you looking through an old apartment building for your lost daughter.

You play as a father who’s looking for his daughter because she was kidnapped and left with a note that indicates her location. You end up going to an old apartment where you discover that it’s not really abandoned- at all. Something is there and your daughter is being held hostage by it.

Without spoiling the game, you can beat it in about 20 minutes. It offers modern visuals, sounds, and some pretty nasty creatures chasing after you. If you like scary games, try out Indagar.

Room 303 is an atmospheric horror game that’s pretty awkward and scary at the same time.

For starters, there’s a person who got killed in the room with you. You just got up and you have no idea what happened and you don’t know who you are. You may have even killed the person with you. Who knows? Like many horror genre games, this is the typical setup.

Your only job is to clean up the room by putting the stuff away in the secret order. As you put stuff away, other stuff gets unlocked and can be interacted with. As you start to clean up the place, you’ll start to uncover the story. It’s a pretty surreal horror game worth playing if you like scary games. It’s pretty unsettling and with its dark narrative, you’ll be caught in constant suspense. Definitely worth a try! Play Room 303 using the link and try it out for yourself.

Infliction is a dark and scary adventure game powered by UE4 for realistic presentation.

The game has you investigating an abandoned household that’s been run down and dilapidated over time. You’re trying to figure out what happened to it and put together the backstory behind it. There are plenty of objects you can interact with and read in order to understand what exactly happened.

As you explore this horrific household, you start to wonder if you’re really alone. That’s all I’m gonna say. The game is basically an interactive nightmare. The visuals create a very tense atmosphere that’ll give you chills faster than you can say “holy S!$T!” It’s a very scary game. Seriously.

The current build offers about 30 minutes of horrifying adventure and has some really nice artwork which makes it that much more scary than your typical indie pixelated horror game. Try out Infliction if you’re up for some realistic horror.

Writer’s Block is a surreal point-and-click horror game adventure that’s totally a psychological thriller.

You play as a writer who’s upset that he can’t earn any fame from his works. You’re jealous of your friend who’s career is taking off and your jealousy turns into real nightmares and monsters. You have to use puzzle-solving to escape them and not get caught.

Right now, the game offers a short demo of just jealousy as it manifests itself into a nightmare. The full game will have a full spectrum of emotions and memories you need to use stealth to escape or solve puzzles in order to deal with them. There’s also a narrative that has multiple paths depending on your choices you make. You can fight the emotions or you can get consumed by them- it’s all up to you which will change the ending of the game.

It mixes horror and an immersive atmospheric adventure into one scary experience you don’t want to miss if you’re a fan of psychological horror. Try out Writer’s Block for yourself and see jealousy before your eyes!

Pink, White or Blue is an emotionally-driven story-based narrative adventure game.

It combines a powerful narrative experience with a touch of horror. It’s not exactly a horror game, but you can definitely feel the eerieness of it when you play. You’re a transgender person in a binary male/female world and you need to face the consequences.

You’re a pretty feminine person and you’re exploring a country farm ranch. You pluck some flowers and groom some horses. It’s a simplistic and relaxing atmospheric experience. Everything is pretty and gorgeous to look at, but then you start finding an abandoned comic book that depicts the story of another person who’s having a pretty bad time.

Then you start to envision their life and go through all the pain and suffering they went through.

The game covers some pretty dark areas but at the same time, it’s a very emotional and meaningful experience. Without spoiling the game, you’ll be exploring a beautiful environment from a perspective of a horror film. The game is pretty trippy and touches on the psyche.

You’ll get a nice mesmerizing experience that makes you think twice about the world itself.

Mortal Crowns is an isometric adventure puzzle game with a horror theme.

It’s not exactly a jumpscare game where things will jump out at you, but it’s more like a horror-themed adventure game. You go through a labyrinth filled with scary monsters as you try to make progress by solving some decent puzzles.

You play as a girl who has the ability to warp to this place using a picture on her wall in her bedroom. Think Super Mario 64. When she warps in, the place is crawling with monsters and puzzles that need to be solved in order to advance through the labyrinth.

The place is dark, wet, and disgusting. There are skeletons, candles, and a lot of monsters teeming the place. You have to solve particular puzzles and a lot of them require that you use your logic skill and break codes. You can also get some help from “aids” but it’s still difficult. You’ll need to jot down some notes in order to solve them.

Oh, and you’re being chased by a monster while you’re trying to solve the puzzles.

It can get pretty frustrating to play. If you get caught by the monster, the game turns into a turn-based battle game where you choose your next attack, defend, or try to run away. You can also use a few abilities as well. It goes full RPG on you, but these battles are often and pretty mundane. You’ll get annoyed and frustrated pretty easily though. And then you learn that the thing you’re running from is more of an annoyance because you’ll have to fight it in RPG mode rather than be scared.

It’s the game’s biggest issue. It’s supposed to be a fun exploration game with awesome puzzles in an immersive environment, but the monster makes it annoying.

Lonely Things is a first-person horror adventure game that just took off.

You play as a character who just had a very long trip overnight and needs to take a break. The only place around is this remote hotel that looks like it’s falling apart. All you need is a night’s sleep, but you quickly learn that you should’ve looked elsewhere!

When you wake up in your room, you find a note tagged to your door letting you know that your car has vanished. Now what?

It’s time to explore the lonely, dark hotel and find out what’s going on. And it’s that not lonely after all. But you knew this already, right? There are people to interact with, after all.

Lonely Things features nicely detailed 3D artwork with a very atmospheric environment. The hotel is old, dusty, woody, and features a lot of random objects that are out of place and seem like they just don’t belong there. It really gives you an awkward feeling like you’re in a contemporary hotel or something and everything’s just so eerie.

The color palette uses darker tones and really gives rise to the feeling that something is seriously hiding in the hotel with you. There are lights and stuff, but they really don’t help much. It almost feels like you’re in a giant mansion or something.

The ambiance of this game is just amazing. It has a nice backstory and sets it up perfectly for your objective. The sounds, sights, and basic plot all come together for a terrifying experience that features on slowly creeping horror rather than jumpscares. But that’s not to say there aren’t any.

You’ll find character models in this game that really add to the whole creepiness of it. Everything’s a little off and little weird. You’ll wonder what’s going on rather than what’s around the corner. You’ll be tense at many points while you’re exploring the hotel.

The game features a soundtrack as well that’ll suck you right into the horrifying atmosphere. It features creepy notes with just a bit of juice to pump up your anxiety. If you hate creepy and catchy tunes, you’re in for a bad time. It’ll creep you out.

Without spoiling the plot too much, you’ll be looking for items around the hotel. You’ll find some unique touches to the game and plenty of eerie vibes around the place. It goes a little more than just collecting items and running away. You’ll have to play it to find out.

Overall, Lonely Things is a fresh new take on the horror genre. It’s still in development and has a good start so far. Try it out using the link below and let the dev know what you think.

The Librarian in is an awesome new indie game that tells a creepy tale- without using a single word.

The game is made by Octavi Navarro who also made another popular title called Midnight Scenes: The Highway. The Librarian takes the same style of gameplay but delivers even more than the previous game.

You play as a lonely librarian who needs to investigate a library in an attempt to get some answers. The game has no dialog. Everything is presented to you by objects, actions, and animations. It’s a very obscure game that leaves a lot of things up in the air for your own interpretation of it.

It’s one of those games that makes you think about what really just happened as you try to piece all the parts of the story together for a few hours after you’ve played it. There’s no concrete ending and it can either be the most meaningful game you’ve played all day or leave you completely confused and convoluted as to what just happened.

Either way, it’s done beautifully. The sound, music, and gorgeous pixel art are all presented so subtly but effectively. The art style is very pretty with a nice color palette and dark tones that throw this indie the horror genre, but not completely so. It’s a dark game with some dark undertones, but at the same time it’s very mysterious and inviting. The animations are also very nice and fluid. It’s not choppy nor half-assed so it just sucks you in.

At its core, The Librarian is a horror-themed point-and-click indie game. It has a few puzzles here and there. But the best part is probably the story. Without words, it really makes you think about what’s going on, which then immerses you into the game even more. It’s a truly atmospheric experience. Excellent presentation and very well done audio/visuals that work in pure harmony. You can tell that passion was put into making this creation.

The game has you exploring a library and you’ll come across a variety of puzzles. I like the puzzles, but some of them are kind of annoying because you’ll keep clicking with no feedback. Others are intuitive and very unique. You’ll feel like you’re making progress, but if you don’t like puzzles, you’ll need to learn how to be patient. Let’s just put it that way so I don’t spoil the game.

The game also has you encounter a previous librarian who plays a major role in the silent storyline. You’ll have to figure out the significance of this person yourself. Again, it’s up to much subjectiveness and interpretation. It is what you think it is.

An Aspie Life is a game that simulates what it’s like for a person suffering from Asperger’s Syndrome.

Although I can’t say for sure the game is true-to-life, the developer states that it represents how autistic people see the world.

The story goes as your roommates left you for no reason and now you need to face society and the outdoors all by yourself. It’s both a mesmerizing experience and a scary adventure at the same time when you’re autistic. But it’s not all bad- you can still explore and go about through your daily routine (and still enjoy life).

The game takes you through several events like shopping, playing games, interacting with others, and stuff a typical person would take for granted. You need to survive normal everyday tasks that may seem mundane to the average person, but seeing it with the special effects, graphics, sounds, and interactions the developer has put into the game makes it a lot more interesting.

Personally, I had no idea that the world is so different from an autistic person’s perspective. This experimental simulator really brings a lot of the topics going around to light and makes you think twice about humans and society as a whole. It really does make you think quite a bit about others.

All you need to do is keep your health and emotion meters maxed out. Depending on how well you did to keep them stable, it’ll determine the ending of the game. It has a few endings, so you can play through it multiple times to see them all.
