FOES.IO is a strange one.

If you’ve played or heard of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (who hasn’t?), FOES.IO is like a top-down version of it.

Yeah, it’s weird like that.

You play as a character with your camera directly over the head. You start out and look for loot hidden throughout the level. You can pick up guns, equips, and other gear to help you survive. The last player surviving wins the game.

It’s very similar in gameplay mechanics as PUBG. The level gets smaller by a boundary as time goes on. But it’s nowhere as large in scale. The matches last about 5 minutes on average.

FOES.IO is completely browser-based. You don’t have to download or install anything to play it, but that’s also why the game is a lot smaller.

It’s hardly comparable to PUBG besides the goal of the game (and the mechanics).

Everything else is different- the gameplay style, the perspective, and even how you play the game. Having a top-down view means you can always see other plays that enter your field of vision. But then again, they have the ability to hide under trees and debris where your camera won’t reveal them.

It also does have unique features going for it. For instance, you can choose between melee and ranged equips and also pick up HP regens and speed boosts.

If you’re a fan of survival game, try it out. Don’t compare it to PUBG, but rather think of it as a game by itself. It’s a fun little dose battle royale.

The game only allows one game to be running per server, but due to the popularity, you’ll likely be waiting for a while. Either way, it’s worth a try.

If you’ve played Starve.IO, it’s very similar to it. It’s a pretty fun game that’s currently trending.
