Project Queen’s Meadow is a dungeon crawler RPG game where you play as an unknown hero who discovers a huge dungeon hidden in a cave system!

You decide to explore the caves in search of treasure (or escape) and find out that there are some adventurer’s notes left behind from a previous “hero” that may have gone down the same path as you. Notes, equipment, and even some tips are left behind for you to being your adventure.

The game has some graphics that’ll instantly remind you of Minecraft. The artwork is stunning in some parts- especially the crystals in the caves. The way the sword is held, slashes, and even the UI look similar. You have stamina and shield bars you have to watch out for.

The atmosphere and gameplay are pretty straightforward. You explore the dungeon. You kill slimes. And you repeat it. There is some depth to the combats though. You can dodge and avoid attacks while homing in when the enemy is vulnerable. It’s kind of like King’s Field. You have to fight slimes, avoid treacherous traps, and follow a simple but interesting backstory. The music is peaceful and the pixel art is amazing. The goal is to find out what happened to the queen.

The game will keep you buys for a while. It has a sizable chunk of gameplay and perfect for any casual gamer who likes some colorful dungeon crawling that’s not too serious. The atmosphere and graphics are very neat and the game just has this simple and basic appeal that’s irresistible to play and encourages you to explore the beauty of the game’s world.

Stoneshard is an awesome and addicting top-down dungeon crawler.

You explore many different caves and dungeons filled with crawling monsters in a procedurally-generated world. It seems like this format is a lot more popular nowadays because it gives players a unique adventure every time. The game plays similar to Diablo and Darkest Dungeon, where you play as a mercenary who’s out to take down a tyrant king and help establish peace to Aldor.

You’ll crawl dungeons, explore various lands, and fight tons of monsters. You’ll also get rewarded handsomely with plenty o’ loot to go around and also get a group of followers who’ll help you out along your quest. This is a pretty cool feature that not many of these games have and something I’d like to see more of. The game is difficult, so you’ll need as much help as you can get.

Stoneshard is currently in early access with just a prologue and about 2 hours of gameplay. The game’s lore, storyline, and artwork make it seem like an old-school classic that’ll have you nostalgic for days. The combat system is easy to learn, but also very strategic gameplay elements and a lot of equips that’ll help you on your adventure. The Caravan of allies is awesome and you can expand your following as you progress.

Your character also will have to deal with traumas that can only be fixed with drugs. The game also has meters for food and water, upgradable and customizable characters, and over 100 weapons to draw.

If you’re looking for an addicting, polished, and awesome roguelike dungeon crawler, try out Stoneshard. It’s one of the most appealing and simplistic yet addicting roguelikes I’ve come across recently. Definitely worth a play if you like dungeon crawlers with older style artwork that’ll remind you of the good times.

Wizard of Legend is an awesome old-school 2D dungeon crawler that’ll have you nostalgic for the classics.

It’s a game where you aim to be the best wizard and get as powerful as you can by using unique abilities and their own attacks. you can choose from a few different selections of wizards and each has their own spells which you’ll have to master in order to progress.

Wizard of Legend is a simple and straightforward dungeon crawler like you’d expect. It has the fast-paced combat complete with lots of sprites, eye-candy spells, and plenty of monsters and gore. It’s no button masher either. You have to time your attacks and you know your opponent’s weakness in order to efficiently kill them.

Upgrade your gear and buy new items. Slash monsters. Earn XP and cash. It’s just like playing the best dungeon crawlers without the fluff.

Use your moves wisely and power up your character to unleash devasting attacks and spells.

The dungeons are also procedurally-generated as well. The game features some gorgeous pixel art with nonstop monster-slaying action as you explore huge dungeons.

Witchbeat is an awesome dungeon crawler with a musical twist!

As you do your dungeon crawling, you need to use a rhythmic take in order to crawl the dungeon and save the mystic fairies. Well, it’s not really a dungeon. It’s more like a warehouse or something.

Anyway, you need to rescue the owners of the warehouse who happen to be fairies and clean up the place. There are dangers and hazards everywhere and you need to take out all the baddies and hazards using your magic.

As you approach an enemy or object that you can clean up, a little circle will appear that engulfs them. Then you need to use your magical attacks and time it to the music in order to cast your fairy spells.

It’s a pretty interesting take and gives a nice catchy challenge. Some enemies take more attacks than others while some can be taken down easily. Your spells work through some thin obstacles like walls and such so you can kill enemies that are distant from you. Solve puzzles, get keys, and kill various blobs.

Do this over and over until you save all the fairies. Collect random gems. Read random snippets for backstory. It’s cool. It’s kinda Zelda-like.

Witchbeatt is an awesome little concept and worthy of a play whether or not you like dungeon crawlers. It’s funny, catchy, random, and has some nice pixel art and animation that matches the music! It plays in the browser so no download needed.

Last Epoch is an awesome dungeon-crawler with realistic graphics that are stunning to look at.

It’s like Diablo with modern graphics and all the action packed into a hack and slash dark fantasy world. You’re in the world of Eterra, which was lost to “The Void” a long, long time ago. You’re the hero and your job is to bring Eterra back from the grasp of the dark powers.

Last Epoch pits you against tons of undead minions, monsters, and creatures in this hack and slash action RPG that’ll have you nostalgic for Diablo or Baldur’s Gate.

Currently, you can play the game in its alpha demo. It’s still very very early in development, but you can get a good feel for how the game will play and the combat system (which I expect to change a lot over time). It has some pitfalls and isn’t completely polished, but it already has a solid foundation.

You can play a decent amount of the game which includes a piece of the campaign, a few boss fights, and even an arena mode. If you’ve played Diablo before, you’ll fit right in. You basically navigate through a dungeon, fight monsters, get loot, and level yourself up. You can also choose between two classes in the demo right now. The game combines tons of character customization, replayability, and even time travel.

The best part about Last Epoch is probably the game’s graphics. It looks surreal- everything from your weapons to the monsters to each individual grain of dirt. If the whole game gets this level of polish, it’ll easily be one of the best-looking RPGs ever made. The visuals are super high-quality.

I read that the game will feature both single-player and online multiplayer as well as a full story mode campaign and tons of content for endgame players. It’s basically a modern MMORPG with a Diablo-like feel and the promise of lots of content like quests, gear, raids, and even randomized dungeons for a unique run every time.

It’ll also have ten classes to choose from with extensive skill trees, play styles, roles, and combat mechanics like the Paladin, Sorcerer, Bladedancer, Beastmaster, Warlock, Void Knight, Spellblade, Marksman, Druid, and Necromancer. This is an upcoming MMORPG you need to keep your eyes on. Loot is even randomized as well.

Last Epoch is an awesome action RPG with impressive graphics, a huge dark fantasy world to explore, lots of content promised, and unique dungeons for each crawl session! When the game finally rolls out, it just may be the next big MMO. It focuses on old-school RPG mechanics with updated graphics and systems.

HVNTRS is an awesome retro co-op roguelike dungeon-crawler that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world (is that the trend nowadays?).

The story, in a nutshell, is that the Hellbeatss have broken loose and these monsters turn human men into monsters as well- kind of like a zombie infection. Half of humanity has already been transformed into these vampiric creatures.

Now, there’s only a small group of stronghold shelters to save the remaining humans from the scavenging beasts. And there’s even smaller few who want to take the reigns and control the survival of humanity for just another day.

They’re the Hellbeast and Vampire Neutralization and Tactical Removal Squad- the HVNTRS! (That’s you.)

Team up with up to 3 of your friends and play through this roguelike dungeon-crawler together with local couch co-op multiplayer. The game takes perspective in a top-down view with nonstop monster-bashing action. It’s like a very simple and basic retro version of The Binding of Isaac or Gauntlet or something. But the game takes place in a turn-based strategy fashion. It’s very interesting.

The game has you attacking enemies by “bumping” into them. You’ll automatically attack using whatever item is your primary equip. If you have a melee item, you can attack in a specific direction by holding the item hotkey. If you just press the key, you’ll “queue” the item to be used. When an item is used, it automatically becomes your primary main-hand item. It’s kinda confusing, but you get used to it quickly. It reminds me of older cabinet arcade games. The control scheme is similar.

You can also lob projectiles as well by pressing the “throw” key. This is useful for mobs of monsters that you know is suicide if you get up close and personal, or if you prefer to keep some distance.

You can also find items all over the map that you can use to quickly swap out your current item. They each have different advances and using the right weapon at the right time is crucial.

So you select your weapon, attack, and direction. And then you make your move. You need to work strategically with your friends in order to progress. Team up on the same enemy to take it down quickly (priority threats) or strategically position yourself to take care of another enemy. Or do something else altogether. It’s like if Baldur’s Gate were turn-based.

The game has tons of items to use, each that grants stats (or takes them away) like robes, daggers, armor, etc. You’ll have to position yourself and play the right role according to your equips.

You play with your friends and queue up at the same time. If one of you goes outside of the screen, the game will assume that person has been queued. Once all players are done selecting their queues, the game will progress.

The only goal is to make it to the end of the dungeon and kill the Hellbeast. That’s it. But it’s a lot more difficult than that. You’ll have to work cooperatively with your friends in order to get past the treacherous dungeon first!

HVNTRS is an awesome indie dungeon-crawler with gorgeous artwork. The art is super simple, but very immersive o the point where you have to use your imagination to see what’s going on. It’s basic, but very effective. The strategic gameplay is a nice touch that makes it stand out from run and gun dungeon-crawlers. If you like strategy games, HVNTRS is a must play. Gather 3 of your Hellbeast-slaying friends save what’s left of humanity!

Knightin’ is an old-school dungeon crawler that’s clearly inspired by old-school Zelda.

If you grew up with the legendary classics like the original Zelda and A Link to the Past, you’ll definitely want to check out this sweet indie game.

Even if you’ve never played them, you’ll probably easily get into the basic top-down up/down/left/right gameplay style.

Knightin’ takes the traditional storyline blown up with the princess in distress, evil upon the world, chaos reigns- and just throws it all out the window. It’s like Zelda without the storyline and just the dungeons (not that Zelda games have bad storylines, but this game focuses on just the core gameplay. You’re a knight and you’re looking for fame and loot. That’s it. Who needs a princess, right?

Knightin’ has you playing through a pretty complex dungeon. It’s filled with locked doors, puzzles, blocks, and more. It also has an assortment of enemies like slimes, bats, and cyclops as well (sound familiar yet?) There are also a few traps as well. You need to watch out for spikes, flames, and projectiles that pose a threat to any adventurer.

Get keys. Unlock chests. Go through doors. The gameplay premise is simple. But the enemies, traps, and puzzles are what make it fun.

It really brings back the nostalgia of the old-school Zelda dungeons. You’ll feel like you’re playing a modded HD remake of a single dungeon or something.

It’s a rogue-like game with a nice, relaxed style and an awesome soundtrack. You’ll have to wander around and solve a few puzzles as well. One thing that’s pretty awesome about Knightin’ is that you have to look for hints on the floor in the form of small square holes. But if you look at the whole picture, you’ll notice that there are QR codes embedded into the game. You can literally whip out your smartphone to get these codes for dungeon hints!

The game also has a shop inside the dungeon as well. Wouldn’t it have been awesome if that was in Zelda? You can buy a few items and one item is necessary in order to beat the game (without spoiling it).

The artwork is also gorgeous. The game has pixelated retro artwork with 16-bit graphics (or at least it appears so). It’s colorful and very appealing to the eyes. The UI also features your HP bar, items, inventory, key count, and coin count. You also get a small minimap as well.

Overall, if you like retro dungeon crawlers like Zelda, try out Knightin’. It’s a take on the classics and it’ll have you feeling nostalgic for sure. It’s a fun, entertaining, little indie adventure that pays homage to a time when games were much simpler.

Famous Knight is a dungeon crawler where you need to use the power of your fans to make progress!

(Or not.)

It’s a unique twist the traditional dungeon crawler. Instead of pairing up with 3 others in order to defeat enemies, collect loot, and beat the boss, you pair up with all your raving fans who only get in your way and halt your progress.

You play as a noble knight whose only job is to take over dungeons filled with baddies. Sadly, you have a lot of townsfolk to are there to cheer you on. They’ll follow you into different rooms, platforms, and even during battles. And they’ll get in your way. And stay in it.

You need to navigate treacherous traps, enemies, puzzles, and bosses all while your dozens of fans follow you around to watch all the action.

If you lure them into a trap, they’ll get killed. This only affects your “fame” which is calculated when you beat the level. If you have a lot of fans that survive to the end, you’ll get a better fame rating. You need to balance out killing off some fans and keeping them to get a better rating. That’s another element you need to take into consideration during your dungeon crawling.

And they don’t’ only get int he way. You have to pause to sign autographs, push them out of the way, and also deal with their fan signs and camera flashes at the same time. Being popular isn’t always good.

The game features retro pixelated artwork with an 8-bit design. The colors are fitting for a dungeon game, so you shouldn’t expect too much. The fans are multicolored and are annoying enough, so you’ll be preoccupied with them more than the dungeon itself. It’s funny and frustrating at the same time.

Famous Knight features a few dungeons in this build, but they’re difficult. You’re armed with a sword which is upgradeable every time you beat a dungeon. You’ can also upgrade your battle skill and even your appearance (which will attract more fans and boost your “fame” level).

This game is pretty awesome and offers a unique take which a touch of humor touch. It’s worth a lay through just so you can see how it really is to be famous hero.
