Sonic 2 HD is a fan game remake of the original classic Sonic 2 in a high-def experience that’s seriously good.

Just FYI, the game doesn’t offer anything new other than the graphics and audio, so if you’re expecting hidden easter eggs or other surprises, you’ll be disappointed. It’s the same story, same characters, and same everything else. It’s for people looking to relive the experience in HD, or people who’ve never played the game.

There are some changes to the audio and physics that weren’t possible with the older technology, but it doesn’t really change the game all too different.

You’ll be able to hear things you’ve never heard and the physics work a little better than the original. But the dev team consists of all fans doing this for no financial gain and believe strongly in keeping true to the original game. This is a big point they stress on their page.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the remake itself. Shall we?

The game is rendered in crisp, clear, sharp full HD graphics. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and makes you wish you had this kind of technology when you were growing up with Sonic.

Everything from the sprites, characters, and environments. Dr. Robotnik, Tails, Sonic, and even the audio are all in stunning clarity.Sonic 2 HD isn’t a new release, but it’s been recently revamped.

You race through the classics- Emerald Hill, Chemical Plant, and Hill Top Zone with Tails by your side (and you have the option to remove him as well). You can also play exclusively as Tails as well.

The game has all the same secrets and branching paths like in the original with a 1:1 ratio.

If you’ve already played the original and you liked it, give the HD remake a try. There’s not much else to say- it’s a classic.

This is a pretty cool game everyone should check out and play. Fans of the game have already probably heard of this game, but others may not be aware. Either way, it’s worth a post here on Peach’s Castle.
