Railz: The Shooting Train Game is a wave-based game where you need to kill evil robots on a train.

It’s an arguable game of skill because you need to micromanage your energy bar while fending off the robots.

When you shoot, you use energy. You need to manage your shots and time them so you can knock the robots back efficiently. It’s hard to explain. You need to play the game to understand. It’s like a mix of RTS and tower defense.

You can’t control the train, but you can swap the different sections of it. You get upgrades as the game progresses to make it a little easier as it gets more difficult. You build your train, and then you clear the waves. That’s RailZ in a nutshell. The skill comes in when you have to balance how you shoot and how you build the train. Those two factors make the biggest difference in each wave.

Each section of the train also has a purpose. The front is an energy generator that powers the rest of the train. If you upgrade your train’s guns, each section uses more energy. Therefore, you need to upgrade the engine. But that comes at a big cost. Railz requires some management to play, though it’s pretty fun to mindlessly blast away at the robots.

If you run out of energy, you need to wait for the train to stop at a train station. This allows you gain energy back and also buy upgrades and repair damaged parts of your train. It gets difficult because these pit stops get rarer. So you gotta balance your attack and energy regeneration and upgrades. It becomes pretty difficult if you get far into this indie game

Railz: The Shooting Train Game is available for a full download. It’s pretty fun with a retro throwback in graphics and nice fast-paced audio. The game isn’t easy, so be prepared to try a few times to beat a level. It’s a unique game. It mixes several genres together and it’s definitely worth a try.
