T(rip) is a hand-drawn point-and-click adventure that has you guiding a character around doing very random things.

He’s a young guy who lives by himself in an apartment complex. The game goes through a few periods of his lift and you see him change his clothing and appearance as you progress through the “chapters.” You’ll need to combine and look for items in different ways in order to achieve a specific tasks. Don’t want to spoil your trip into insanity! Or did I just do that?

You’ll then find out something is awry as his lift becomes kind of “crazy.” You’ll have to find out what happens for yourself. The game really does take you through T(rip).

Captive Audience is a weird little first-person narrative thriller game that has you locked into a twisted game show where you need to perform specific tasks in order to survive.

You play as a character named Matt, which somehow got sucked into a game show where you need to wake up each new day and do some task in order to to keep the audience interested. If you don’t keep them watching, you’ll face some consequences- including getting your show cancelled and then getting killed because of it. It’s a dark game with some very emo humor.

As you play through the game’s days, you’ll learn about the backstory of Matt and why he’s being held captive. The tasks range from menial things like sending emails to more complex things like cooking breakfast. Every night another contestant on the show will talk to you through the walls in  your room and talk about your wife- she’s also locked into the game show.

The game is still in early access, but it’s already very entertaining and fun to play. It’s a very satirical and dark game, so be prepared for that. There’s about an hour full of content for you to play through, so enjoy it! Captive Audience is one for the books!

You Left Me is a dark and surreal first-person visual novel that deals with some touchy subjects.

It has you playing with a cyclopic cat and a hilarious moon that tells some lame jokes. It plays just like any other visual novel, but one thing you’ll notice about this game is the artwork. It’s STUNNING.

It features a variety of scenes which you’ll appreciate all the detail that went into the hand-drawn artwork. It simply looks gorgeous. It’s like the devs went out and paid a professional artist to draw stills and blend it with some very nice colors and detail and then mashed it into a novel. The game looks like something from the Final Fantasy series. It’s seriously one of the gorgeous visual novels I’ve ever seen. It’s a nice change from the saturated anime-style you see pretty much in every other novel.

Anyway, you play as a character that wakes up in a different world and you only have until nighttime to escape. You need to find out why you’re here and what you need to do. But at the same time, you’ve forgotten something that you need to recover and seek out. Without spoiling the game, you’ll have to find out for yourself. The story mixes humor, dark, and some other touchy subjects like loneliness and even suicide into one emotionally-driven visual novel. It’s a very polished game.

It features 5 different endings depending on the choices you make and you’ll likely play through at least two of them. It’s that good of a game. I wanted to see all endings so I had to constantly make the “wrong” choices in order to see them all. Each playthrough lasts from about 10 to 20 minutes, so you can easily sail through it and witness the dreamlike original artwork.

The story is amazing. It’s inspiriting and beautiful. I’m not saying anymore.

PC_001 is an adventure game where all you need to do is ESCAPE!

It’s kind of like an escape room/dungeon crawler hybrid in the first-person view. You navigate a dark and claustrophobic tower that looks extremely eerie and unsettling. It’s like an old jailhouse or psych ward or something.

As you traverse the many rooms, you’ll find key items (like keys) that are necessary to “beat” the game and escape. The experience is the game, so I can’t tell you too much or else it’ll spoil the game right away. It’s all about exploration and puzzle-solving as you hunt for keys and walk through many different rooms filled with some very weird contraptions that look like they were once used as a slaughterhouse!

The game is kind of scary and mysterious at the same time. You feel like something’s gonna jump out at you around every corner, but at the same time, the place looks abandoned. You need to ascend the dark tower and uncover the reason behind its purpose. It’s one of those games that hide the truth until you reach the end- then you realize that the answer was in front of your face the whole time! I’ve said enough.

Play PC_001 and escape the tower. It’s a unique little puzzle adventure indie game with some nice retro PC graphics that you’d see back in the DOOM era. If you like exploration and escape-room type games, try out PC_001. Awesome atmosphere and a fantastic twist!

The Juice of God’s Future is a dark fantasy indie game that offers an atmospheric and immersive experience.

The game takes place in the far future where the entire world is overpopulated. To solve that, an evil mastermind corporation has been established. What do they do? Well, it’s pretty dark. You’ll have to play the game to find out.

Without spoiling the game (too much), the game is an extremely simple game. It only involves one animated scene in a dark and damp factory. The factory was made to “take away” people who don’t contribute to society. The background has moving belts and machinery like you’d see at a soda-bottling plant, except in a very twisted and inhumane manner.

The atmosphere is damp and dark. The machinery sounds come in a repeating manner. And the inhabitants each present themselves with their best quality in one sentence. The artwork looks like something from the Oddworld series.

You’re the controller and you decide who plays an important role in society and who doesn’t.

Every choice you make affects society overall- you can see real-time stats like intelligence, creativity, and happiness. Depending on whether or not you choose to “drink up,” you decision alter these stats. You get 3 reports total and your goal is to max out all of the stats by making the right decisions!

At the end of the third report, you can see your final score. If you made the right meaningful choices, you’ve contributed to bettering society overall. If not, you’re only adding to the problem and should “drink up” yourself!

If you’re in for a refreshing take on fourth-wall decision making in a dark fantasy world, try out The Juice of God’s Future. It’s a simple yet depressing game at the same time.

The Blackout Club is an awesome, surreal indie horror game like you’ve never seen before.

It’s a game where you play as a group of teenage students that have decided to investigate and document the activities of a few select people of interest- who happen to be adults in the neighborhood. Something fishy is going on and you and your friends want to figure it out.

The game takes place in a typical suburban neighborhood- complete with houses, streetlights, cars, mailboxes, and a dark secret. The game is being developed by a small team called Question, who also made The Magic Circle. It’s considered to be a horror game, but it’s not the kind where something jumps out at you in a forest, school, or pizza shack.

But rather, the game has you playing the role of a teenager who constantly blacks out at nighttime and wakes up in the morning with scars, mud, and marks all over- in other words, this kid gets roughed up at night and doesn’t know why. This person has no memories of it and sometimes the whole day is forgotten.

This kid then quickly realizes that both strangers and friends in the ‘hood also are suffering from the same issue. So they all get together to form an investigation club to find out what exactly is going on. You control one of them. You bond with your friends about this dark, shared secret. You’ll quickly find out that there’s a tunnel system underground and that brings your quest. (And you also notice a very disturbing music track playing through the tunnels as well.)

Then your best friend vanishes overnight. And that’s when things get spooky.

The adults in the neighborhood have been acting weird and you all decided to document their behaviors. You need to spy on them, stalk them, record them on film, and find out what they’re up to. You all need to uncover the truth. You all have a secret tunnel system you’ve built as a path for your reports, but you’ll quickly notice that it’s not exactly safe in there. As the game progresses, it gets darker and darker.

The Blackout Club is like a twisted modern horror game. It offers co-op gameplay rather than single player. But even with others, it’s still pretty scary in its own way. It’s not the jumpscare type, but rather the thrilling type. You play as teenage investigators that are trying to find out what is happening and capture it all on film to prove its real. It’s suspenseful, dark, and extremely immersive. It’s like when you’re reading a good horror book and you just get immersed and scared- even though it’s just a book. The Blackout Club has the same effect.

You need to outwit the adult and record the conspiracy on film. There are many ways to get around the challenges in the game and multiple ways to solve each one.

The game will have a detailed and living world. It’s completely simulated and familiar-looking, yet strangely eerie. You’ll never get the same game twice with multiple branching paths and solutions to uncover the adults’ secret. Every single night is a new investigation, kind of like how Five Nights at Freddy’s is separated into different nights.

Once Upon a Coma is an immersive and adorable indie adventure game that’s currently trending like crazy.

It’s a sidescrolling dark and mysterious themed game based on a simple plot. You play as a character named Pete and you just woke up from a coma and have no idea what you’re doing or where you are. Sure, it sounds like any other game at this point. But keep reading.

Your sister has gone missing and you hear violent screams in the heart of Black Wood- a fantasy world with bare trees, forests, streets, and fields all twisted in a dreamlike fashion. You need to uncover the story and mystery behind Pete’s history and also explore the violent behavior of the “grown-ups” all in a dark and haunted world. It’s truly an adventure of the ages.

The first thing you’ll notice about the game is the gorgeous graphics and artwork. It’s a blend of fantasy with a touch of realism done in a way that really immerses you into its twisted world. You’ll feel like you’re playing in the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas in Jack Skellington’s shoes or something. It’s that well done.

The game is mainly a series of small quests that involve some basic puzzle solving and exploration. There’s minimal dialog other than some clues that pertain to the main story. Most of the game is simply exploring the dark world through 10 different fantasy worlds.

You’ll also have to combat many different monsters that range from spiders to grown-ups. The game has you simply equipped with a barber’s small knife which you use to cut up everything in your path. It’s more about the exploration than the combat though, so the fighting scenes are pretty easy.

There are also a few platforming elements where you’ll need to jump gaps or scale objects. You may also have to dodge and evade some terrifying enemies as well. Of course, you’ll have your childhood pals and even your pet to join you on your adventure to discover your history.

Without spoiling the game, the game is a premium quality adventure that we definitely need more of. The sound is simple and effective and the soundtrack is a blend of softening piano-centered melodies mixed with soft percussion. The artwork is probably the best part of the game. Exploring the worlds while immersed in the gorgeous artwork is just mesmerizing while you solve puzzles and progress through the storyline. It’s truly an adventure to behold.

Once Upon a Coma supports Xbox controllers and PS4 controllers on Windows as well- for those who can’t play adventure games using a keyboard and mouse.

Toward The Pantheon: Escaping Eternity is a mystery game that focuses on puzzle-solving.

You play as an unknown soldier who wakes up in darkness with a headache. The game is a prequel that tells the story of a soldier. It takes place before the next game in the series- Towards The Pantheon.

In this game, you need to solve puzzles and explore various environments in order to uncover the storyline behind the soldier’s existence.

It features gorgeous pixel art portrayed in a top-down perspective. The graphics aren’t exactly retro, but they do have a retro feel. The shading, coloring, and theming are all superb and go together well to tell the story.

The puzzles aren’t difficult, but they’re interesting enough to keep your attention. If anything, Towards The Pantheon: Escaping Eternity, makes for an awesome little story. It’s an atmospheric game with dark music and scary environments.

Path of Exile is one of the freemium MMORPG on the planet.

It was created by a small team of developers that worked with AAA title companies. It’s been on the PC for a while now and has a huge playerbase. And now, it’s on its way to the Xbox One.

Path of Exile (PoE) is an awesome MMORPG with amazing graphics, dungeons, fulfilling quests, and skill tree. The skill tree in this game is absoltely stunning. When you see it, it’ll look like a cobweb of skills with dozens upon dozens of skill clusters you can activate. You need to see it to believe it.

It’s a dark game set in a fantasy world known as Wraeclast, which is now falling apart and you need to explore it solve the storyline.

You can choose between 7 classes each with their own unique abilities and choose skills from a shared skill tree. Each class has its own alignment in 3 main abilities, but they all have common skills that you can choose however you want to spec it.

PoE is a unique game in that the equipment is powered by gem scokets. You need to collect gems to give enchances to your equips. It’s a very distinct enchantment system that’s not very common in these type of games.

The world is huge and has central cities that you can visit. Beyond that, everything else is ranomdly generated so it’s always a different experience. The game feels like Diablo in combat, but the game has its own unique feel.

Try out PoE for Xbox One beta. It’s a must play. It’s a dark, mesmerizing, huge, and very addicting game that you’ll want to give a shot.

Greetings is a cinematic experiencing featuring the Unreal 4 Engine.

It’s a first-person atmospheric walk trhough the insides of a spaceship. It’s a quick game (if you can call it that) so be prepared to look for your next game.

You can finish it it under 5 minutes even if you look around and explore. The visuals and audio are very well done. You could make a horror game out of it. There’s a sense of creeping horror as you walk through the craft, but you don’t really have any objectives other than to explore.

You find out your purpose at the end of the game. But it’s hard to say without spoiling it. You’ll have to play Greetings by yourself and find out.
