Star Citizen is having its free Alpha weekend this week with players able to jump into the huge game with its huge success with over 190K in crowd-funded support.

Star Citizen is a multiplayer space trading game that was originally planned for release back in 2014 and is a huge game where up to 50 players can travel the universe together and take part in over 30 procedurally-generated missions with 60 types of ships and over 300 pieces of weapons, armors, and items. It’s a huge game for an alpha release.

So far, the game is relatively polished and playable. It already has a solid foundation with the attention to detail and huge scope of the game. Players can explore, trade, and fight enemies in space. The free alpha weekend is available until August 27th, so turn on your hyperdrive and jump in! Sign up!

Legion: The Eternal War is an awesome new MMORPG that takes place in (another) Lord of the Rings-type world.

It’s pretty much another game that wages the war between Elves and Humans.

However, this time around, there’s another force that has risen because of the torn planet due to the war. The two races have been so focused on each other that they totally let a newer, more powerful force arise that’s destructive to both of them.

This fifty-year war allowed their leaders to be killed by this unknown faction. The game has you playing in a world that’s been torn apart between three factions in a chaotic environment.

Storyline aside, it’s pretty much another MMORPG. There are hundreds of these types of clones out there, but only a few are actually quality games and offer something new to the table (that works). Legion: The Eternal War has you playing as a wandering traveler who can choose between the two factions to form allies with.

The game is heavily combat-based with melee, ranged, and mana magic-based fights against other players, mobs, and NPCs (from what’s expected). It has a pretty sophisticated weapon, shields, and armor system as well. Your equips can lose durability at a specific part rather than the entire piece from what it looks like.

The game also doesn’t just throw out experience points for killing an enemy. You’ll have to use skills and get rewarded based on your combat performance. For example, if you use a sword to kill an enemy, you’ll be rewarded skill points for your sword. It’s kinda like Morrowind.

As of now, Legion: The Eternal War is nothing but an alpha game that’s coming out for beta soon. You can sign up early to grab a key.

This game does have some nice things going for it- detailed environments, a sophitcated equip system, and an awesome skill and level system as well. And it’s got some storyline behind it as well. Sign up for a key if RPGs are your thing. You’ll probably wnat to try this one out.

The Immortal Rift is an awesome new MMORPG rolling out soon and is currently in closed beta (but accepting applicants).

You’ll have to supply your computer’s CPU and GPU in order to join, but this MMO looks like a very promising new title instead of the typical clones you see floating around nowadays.

It allows you to forge your own story in its vast and huge world, rather than having every player following the same chained quests. If you’ve played and enjoyed older classics like Ultima Online and RuneScape, you’ll probably dig The Immortal Rift.

It lets players explore its huge world and do all the typical stuff you’d find in an RPG- quests, PvP, PvE, guilds, an auction house, and typical storyline stuff. You can explore the world, discover new lands and cities, and also even distinct cultures between cities.

The Immortal Rift has some pretty unique features up its sleeve though (well, not completely unique- but not that common).

For instance, the game lets you craft items like a survival game rather than an RPG. It also has player housing which you can completely build up yourself. Instead of placing items inside a templated house, you have to build it from scratch- or at least that’s what the screenshots look like. There are even custom storytelling tools and an unstructured economy.

The game also encourages role-playing as well.

Then there’s the naval warfare part. It seems like this is a huge bragging point for the game. You’ll be able to fight other players over water based on the available images so far.

The game is like an updated version of RuneScape. It’s heavily skill-based (as in you need to grind it out) from what it appears like. With over 20 combat and crafting skills, you’ll have plenty to grind out. There is also no class restriction so you can build your character freely.

The lands you explore also look awesome- everything from islands to forests to swamps all look awesome with floating energy and fairies in its mystical world. Giant mushroom-like buildings, trees, camel hybrids, and even wizards in robes all run around the world.

The PvP mode also looks pretty tempting as well. It features open-world combat so you can be attacked at any time.

The Immortal Rift is available for beta right now. If you like fantasy RPGs, you should try this game out.

Tales of Toast is an awesome multiplayer MMORPG that focuses on the old-school style of online RPGs.

Specifically, it has a very easy to play and intuitive interface with open world PvP and tactical-based combat. There’s also a focus on bringing back the social aspect of classic MMO legends like MapleStory and Ragnarok that had raging communities and contributed to what made them awesome.

Tales of Toast plays like your standard MMO but it has mechanical tweaks to make the game feel very different compared to modern MMOs. You can freely travel around the world and do the basics like quests, dungeons, etc. But what makes this game special is how these specific core components of any RPG is done.

For example, the dungeons in this game are procedurally generated with both world dungeons that all players on the same realm can partake in as well as instance-based dungeons. They also level scale to the players active inside and they’re randomly-generated so it’ll never be the same route twice. It’s always a fresh dungeon!

Another thing Tales of Toast does differently is the whole class system. You don’t choose classes in this game, but rather, you decide exactly what type of character you want. Hybrid mages, rangers, melee warriors, or whatever else you can dream of. You get to procedurally build your character to fulfill its role that you want rather play a locked class on a set path of skill points.

The game also has an in-depth trading system that’s based on trade skills like woodcutting, botany, fishing, blacksmithing, carpentry, leatherworking, mining, cooking, and alchemy. It’s similar to World of Warcraft and each trade has its own perks. This is useful for crafting the best items in the game or producing pots to sell in the marketplace. It’s completely up to you.

As with any good RPG, it has an awesome quest system that focuses on quality over quantity. The game still has a ton of quests, but they’re more interactive rather than just plain kill quests or destination quests. Instead, you’ll find epic quest chains that unlock special features and locations for your character to explore!

The game takes place in a world called Astaria complete with towns, capitals, fields, forests, summer/winter areas, deserts, volcanoes, mines, and of course, dungeons. There are even a day/night cycle and a complete weather system.

Tales of Toast isn’t a pay-to-win game, so they do it right like other legendary MMORPGs following the same formula (Path of Exile). You can buy cosmetic items, but nothing that’ll give you an advantage over free players.

The game features cartoonish graphics that look like WoW with an HD mod pack.

Ascent: Infinite Realm (A:IR) is a fantasy steampunk MMORPG game that looks amazingly beautiful.

It’s being developed by Bluehole- the team behind other epic RPGs like Tera Online and the infamous PUBG. A:IR is an MMO where you play as a character in a world with dinosaurs, giant reptiles, and dragons. Combine that with huge warships, machinery, and magical abilities. You get yourself an epic RPG that’ll be something extraordinary.

The game is still relatively early in development, so there’s not much footage of it online. From what we’ve seen, it looks like a game that’s going to be big. If the action and excitement look as good as the images on the ‘net, this game could be the next big RPG.

(If you’re a Let’s Player, it’s your chance to get into a possible giant early.)

The game features a third-person camera complete with a combat system for melee, ranged, and magic. It looks like it combines magical abilities with steampunk machinery. Spell-based combat, weapons, and melee attacks are all present in the images. The game also looks like it’ll have giant-scale battles and raids involving different factions. Shoot down enemy dragons and invade other camps using your own. You can fly on giant dragons and glide through the sky.

What’s known so far is that Ascent: Infinite Realm will have at least 5 classes that are pretty typical in the RPG world. You can choose from a Gunslinger, Assassin, Mystic, Sorceress, and Warlord. Each class will have unique abilities and skills. You can also wield primary and secondary weapons as well. The game will feature lots of ways to get around- like jetpacks and gliders (and dragons).

AI:R also seems to have an emphasis on moving in packs. Whether you’re on a dragon, airship, or air vehicle, you move together with your party or faction. A lot of the action looks like air-based, so this makes for an interesting RPG that’s pretty unique. There are some huge wars that are taking place in the sky. Given that the game plans to have 40 player arenas, we’re pretty sure that large-scale wars are confirmed.

The game looks very impressive with its graphics. It’ll probably also have all the leverage it needs to get traction early on from other games like Tera and PUBG. The game will have a huge playerbase at the start. If it’s good, it’ll become a hit.

Valnir Rok is a sandbox RPG with a Viking theme.

You take on the role of a survivor on an unknown island after your ship has capsized. It’s very similar to ARK: Survival Evolved in a way.

You’ll need to collect resources, craft, build, fight, and get supplies as you build a civilization of one. The game is pretty hostile with lots of enemies that’ll engage you. You’ll need to fight enemies based on Norse mythology. We’re talking beasts, trolls, and wyverns.

You can fight other players and clans as well. However, you have the ability to form your own clan and alliance. You can also explore, trade, fight, get a job, raid, and even build a settlement camp for yourself or a whole village. It’s a real sandbox RPG.

The graphics are amazing and the game looks very promising so far.

Path of Exile is one of the freemium MMORPG on the planet.

It was created by a small team of developers that worked with AAA title companies. It’s been on the PC for a while now and has a huge playerbase. And now, it’s on its way to the Xbox One.

Path of Exile (PoE) is an awesome MMORPG with amazing graphics, dungeons, fulfilling quests, and skill tree. The skill tree in this game is absoltely stunning. When you see it, it’ll look like a cobweb of skills with dozens upon dozens of skill clusters you can activate. You need to see it to believe it.

It’s a dark game set in a fantasy world known as Wraeclast, which is now falling apart and you need to explore it solve the storyline.

You can choose between 7 classes each with their own unique abilities and choose skills from a shared skill tree. Each class has its own alignment in 3 main abilities, but they all have common skills that you can choose however you want to spec it.

PoE is a unique game in that the equipment is powered by gem scokets. You need to collect gems to give enchances to your equips. It’s a very distinct enchantment system that’s not very common in these type of games.

The world is huge and has central cities that you can visit. Beyond that, everything else is ranomdly generated so it’s always a different experience. The game feels like Diablo in combat, but the game has its own unique feel.

Try out PoE for Xbox One beta. It’s a must play. It’s a dark, mesmerizing, huge, and very addicting game that you’ll want to give a shot.

dot big bang is a browser-based game that reminds me of Roblox.

Players can build and design their own voxel-based words and games. You can build anything from puzzles, dungeons, parkour maps, minigames, and even recreations of popular games (from other games).

Currently, the game offers only a slice of what’s to be coming. You can create your own avatar and build your world. You can also visit others’ creations and explore them as well. The characters and environments are all voxel-based, so it’s easy to create objects and characters. The level editor is very easy to use and looks like an old version of MS Paint. You simply click, drag, and drop objects and you can upload them for others to use. You can also download new objects created by other players. Everything in this game is pretty intuitive so far. It’s very easy to use and looks promising for an early access indie game.

Right now, the majority of player creations are all either minigames or 3D parkour maps.

Later on, there are plans for features that allow quick-access slots, complex animations for objects, and custom coding for JavaScript.

Absolver is a third-person MMORPG with a focus on fighting.

It’s an online melee brawler.

You play as a “Prospect” and you’ve joined a group of other fighters. Together, you’re called the Absolvers. You’ve taken a vow and you must secure stability in the open world amongst other players.

The combat system is very unique. It’s very fluid and intuitive. How it works is you choose a series of attacks. You form a unique attack flow by combining different attacks, defensive positions, and other positions. You can choose your weapons and change or swap out different weapons or attacks. Each attack flow can be unique in a fight against an enemy. There are different combinations you can use.

You can test out your attacks when you encounter enemies in the world.

There are also quests and dungeons as well. The game plays like a traditional MMORPG but with a realistic look and very nice combat system in a 3D plane.

The graphics, sound, and gameplay are all very well done. Absolver is now in beta for you to play for yourself.

Wild West Online is an online MMORPG with a western theme. It looks awesome and has players battling it out in a violent, western world.

Players can choose to become a hero or villain. From what I’ve seen, the game looks like you have a lot of freedom to do whatever you want. Kill others or help others. It’s up to you.

In the huge online world from the screenshots that have been released, you can do everything you’d expect from an MMORPG. You can grind, quest, farm, explore, get loot, solve puzzles, break safes, kill enemies and other players, steal items and more. It’s vastly different from traditional RPGs as many are fantasy-based. Wild West Online is an old-timey setting that’ll have you drooling at the gorgeous graphics and a huge world. There are a ton of towns, saloons, settlements, and even real landmarks. Players can interact with the different environments, day/night cycles, weather effects, and many other hazards. There are a ton of places to explore. This is a game I’ll be watching for release.

The development team is made up of people who’ve worked on games like Call of Duty, Crysis, League of Legends, Neverwinter Nights, and other huge AAA titles. Expect nothing less. The game looks promising as it is right now.

Currently, there are no videos of the game in action other than some teaser screenshots. But this game looks like a winner. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on this title.
