Battalion 1944 is Battlefield-esque game that could be next competitive shooter.

It brings back the original FPS nostalgia and refines it with modern game mechanics and graphics.

It doesn’t have the giant 64-player maps that Battlefield is famous for, but rather takes the same gameplay mechanics and puts into a squad-based infantry combat. So it’s kind of like a blend between Counter-Strike with strategic elements and Battlefield with the shooting mechanics. There’s also a bit of Call of Duty thrown in as well based on the screenshots and gameplay videos.

The game will have accurate weapon operations where you’ll have to flick shots with a Kar98 or cover fire with your Thompson. It features extreme clutch scenarios and mastering it is difficult as Counter-Strike. Fluid movement and team coordination are key to winning the game.

It’s basically CS:GO in 1944.

It’s currently using UE4 for its physics and graphics, so the game looks very modern with stunning visuals. Battalion 1944 aims to reintroduce FPS quirks from old-school games. In fact, the dev team is composed of CoD, Wolfenstein, and CS players. They also took community feedback from pro FPS players and over 10,000 suggestions. A lot of work went into building this game.

It features both dedicated server browsing and LAN support for mulitiplayer support. There are also plans for community mods which will instantly make the game that much more popular. Mod support is almost a necessity for a game to be accepted by the masses nowadays (for indie titles, that is).

There are also plans for ranked stats and a ladder with competitive matchmaking (MMR). It’s a classic shooter based on skill. No unfair advantages. It’s all about twitch reflexes and precise aiming. No bonus streaks. No powerups. No gimmicks.

Since the game is 5v5, you’ll probably find yourself in 1v5 clutch situations a lot. This is pretty extreme and the whole game will be based on your skill. If you’ve played any competitive shooter, you’ll know the amazing feeling you get when you kill 5 enemies all by yourself.

You’ll be able to loot enemy weapons to use in the next round as well. Every choice you make determines the overall victory. The combat is fast-paced with little roaming and camping. It’s indeed a twitch shooter but based purely on skill.

There are also casual modes as well for less hardcore FPS gamers. You can choose from TDM, Domination, and Capture the Flag. You can play competitive and unranked matches as well. Choose from online servers or LAN servers. Lots of options.

The community behind this game is huge already. The devs took a lot of time to make this game competitive and fair with lots of input. This is a game that’ll evolve based on player feedback.

Battalion 1944 already looks extremely promising with its fast-paced combat, mod support, lots of matchmaking options, possible tournament-level gameplay, and a supportive dev team. This could be the next big FPS.

GunFight.io is the newest multiplayer craze in browser-based “io” games.

It’s an online multiplayer shooter game where you play on one of two teams and you need to take the other team down by sniping them from a distance.

Think “slappers only” in GoldenEye for the N64, but with snipers only.

Yeah, that’s about.

The game mixes fast-paced combat with stealth at the same time. You feel a sense of urgency as you can be picked off by an enemy at any time, so you’re always on the move. When you spot an enemy, you need to take them out before they take you out. The game has a ton of objects to hide behind, making this a very edge-of-your-seat experience.

It feels like playing a stick figure game with guns.

When you’re hiding behind cover, you can’t be shot. But the level is completely sidescrolling on a 2.5D plane. So you’ll eventually have to uncover yourself by looking over the object and going into “scope mode” which has you gazing through your scope in an FPS setup. You’ll then have to aim and take out your enemy.

But they’ll do the same- they’ll hide in place and wait for the right opportunity to snipe you.

The games are fast-paced and quick. Find an enemy. Find cover. Take them out first. There are also some environmental hazards thrown in to mix it up. The team with the most kills wins.

Epic Snails is a chaotic online multiplayer game that features epic snail battles.

It’s being created by the same devs that made Club Penguin and Battle Bears.

You play as a customized snail and you’re thrown into the battlegrounds. Think Worms 3D or something like that. You need to battle for control over the backyard against enemy snails!

The game has you roaming around (slowly) as a snail with a cannon attached to it in some way. You can customize the look of your snail to have your weapons attached to your shell, body, or whatever else. it also gives you the choice to choose varying colors and such to design your custom snail.

But the customization is only a small part of the game. The battles are where the chaos begins!

You need to roam around the garden and look for enemy snails. When you find one, you fire your tank-mounted snail shell at them in hopes of a hit. Projectiles have travel time so you need to time your shots especially if you’re shooting from across the map. There’s also some degree of bullet drop as well.

But you need to know about the best part of Epic Snail first before we get into this preview…

It’s the ability to climb anything.

That’s right. You can literally climb anything you see, move anywhere in the garden, and even hang upside down like a normal snail would. It’s hard playing the game with your view inverted, but it also makes you that much more stealthy as you battle for garden control!

The game features team battles of 3v3 with the team scoring the most kills to be the conquerors of the garden. The battles are pretty hectic when you have all 6 players battling it out. You’ll have close-up fights, distant fights, and even sniper shots that come out of nowhere. The game features strategic online multiplayer gameplay that’s just nonstop action.

It’s a third-person perspective shooter with a crosshair, just to get that out of the way.

The graphics are appealing and very colorful. It looks like a cartoon with near cel-shaded graphics. Everything is humorously detailed in the environment. You’ll see some common backyard garden items like a patio table, umbrella, chairs, walls, sandboxes and more. You’ll even see some not-so-common items as well. Everything can be used to take cover behind and as a strategic advantage. And again, you can use it all to your advantage by climbing on them and hanging upside-down as well.

Epic Snail also has some community features outside of the battlegrounds. There’s a chat room where you can literally chat with other snails Habbo Hotel style. And there’s the vanity section to customize your snail’s appearance.

Overall, Epic Snail is a very addicting and fun game to play. It’s not to be taken seriously, but the online battles are just so tempting and easy to get immersed in. This game is a serious contender.
