Embuscade is a short little voxel-based horror game.

Now, if you’ve played any voxel-based game before, you’ll know that the graphics aren’t exactly the most realistic. They look like blocky sort of like Minecraft.

The game takes voxel style artwork and the horror theme and combines them both into a horrific experience with audio, gritty textures, and subtle lighting. If you think an indie has to have realistic graphics to be scary- think again.

But this game takes it to a whole new level. It utilizes simple effects, lighting, and ingenuity to create a very atmospheric experience that’ll completely immerse you in the game. It’s creepy and you always get the feeling that something is gonna jump out at you. It’s tense.

Without spoiling it, there’s a story to it and so much nuance and horror bundled into a tiny game. It’ll last you just enough to play through the whole game in one session for total immersion. You’ll want to stop playing because the atmosphere gets to you, but you can’t stop. It’s that kinda game.

Embuscade takes place in a strange quarantine industrial area. It gives you the feeling that you’re in a post-apocalyptic world. You just need to solve the mystery. The game has a storyline full of plot twists that you won’t see coming!

It plays similar to Silent Hill and has an original soundtrack to accompany it. It doesn’t make you pick up any keys or objectives. It’s just about the experience.

Modlands is an awesome little SimCity-like game where you build up a city with a twist.

For starters, it has Twitch support which means your viewers can play with you cooperatively and live in your city as colonists! If you’re a Twitch streamer, this is an awesome way to get your viewers involved. You can even play competitively against them via Twitch chat!

It features both single-player offline modes and also online with Twitch players. You can have your audience members create their own characters and partake their own role in your city! Whether this is co-op survival that pits the streamer and viewers together against monsters or a competitive mode where the streamer and viewers duke it out like a split faction, it promises a ton of fun.

For non-streamers, Modlands is a city builder which has you in control over a tiny colony in a rural area. You’re in charge of expanding a small tribe of voxel-based characters and you need to aid them in building up their town. The game has tons of resource management so you’ll be exploring new lands, crafting items, building new structures, and even defending your colony from attacking foreign enemies!

If you’ve played games like SimCity, you’ll get it right away. it’s the same thing but with a lot more control. The graphics are also voxel-based so you get blocky gameplay like Minecraft.

You can tell your colonists do anything. Harvest resources, gather wood, explore lands, and even craft items. You can even chain structures together to build giant factories to create items for you.

You’ll also have to build structures and defend your people from baddies! They come out at night and you’ll have to gather them all into houses you built to keep them same.

Modlands combines Minecraft, SimCity, and Starcraft all into one awesome strategic city builder. The game can easily hit it big time if more streamers adapt to playing this game, but it’s already extremely addicting with just one player offline using AI. If you like strategic games, you need to try out Modlands. It’s a very fun game that’ll have you glued to your screen for days.

Draiva is an old-school themed driving game that incorporates cars from popular phenomena through the decades!

The game is a relaxed racing game at its core, though it controls like Mario Kart on the NES. It features a top-down view where you can drive on tracks complete with scenery and even a day and night cycle. It’s actually very pleasurable and relaxing just to cruise around.

The default view puts you down in an isometric view, but you can also switch to first-person and even traditional perspectives such as chasing cams as well.

But that’s not the cool part.

You can choose from over 14 different cars in the current version. You can pick cars from Back to the Future, Starsky & Hutch, The Flintstones, Dukes of Hazzard, and even The Blues Brothers.

Pick your favorite ride and cruise in a voxel-based version and race other players on tracks. The tracks are varied and random and can even be shared with other players using seed codes.

The game doesn’t really offer anything else at this point other than a joyride. But it’s actually pretty entertaining. You can race other players and win the race, but you’ll have more fun just cruising around as your favorite vehicle from your favorite show.

Oh, and if you crash, you can screw up your position easily.

It’s still in early development so the controls are a little sloppy. But it’s still very fun to play for any racing fan. The voxel graphics, spiffy artwork, and the fact that you can ride in the roller from The Flintstones and race against Starsky & Hutch is just awesome.

dot big bang is a browser-based game that reminds me of Roblox.

Players can build and design their own voxel-based words and games. You can build anything from puzzles, dungeons, parkour maps, minigames, and even recreations of popular games (from other games).

Currently, the game offers only a slice of what’s to be coming. You can create your own avatar and build your world. You can also visit others’ creations and explore them as well. The characters and environments are all voxel-based, so it’s easy to create objects and characters. The level editor is very easy to use and looks like an old version of MS Paint. You simply click, drag, and drop objects and you can upload them for others to use. You can also download new objects created by other players. Everything in this game is pretty intuitive so far. It’s very easy to use and looks promising for an early access indie game.

Right now, the majority of player creations are all either minigames or 3D parkour maps.

Later on, there are plans for features that allow quick-access slots, complex animations for objects, and custom coding for JavaScript.
