Mechanic 8230 is a sidescroller escape game.
You play as a colorful quirky mechanic who needs to solve puzzles and escape the city in a post-apocalyptic world.
You start out in a prison by yourself and all you want to do is escape.
The game is a point-and-click adventure where you need to click on a variety of objects in order to solve puzzles in order to escape.
If you’ve played any escape game, such as The Room, you know exactly what the game is like. You solve basic to moderate puzzles as you click around on random objects in order to progress through the game.
You’ll need to use different objects and solve different puzzles. You get a PDA with the ability to insert chips you find. The game offers a pretty interesting storyline that progresses as you progress.
The artwork is appealing and looks like something from the classic point-and-click adventure games like The Longest Journey. They’re highly detailed with impressive lighting effects. They have a hand-drawn look like something you’d see out of a comic book and are very nice to look at. There’s also a soundtrack that plays int he background to accompany the immersion.
It’s still in active development, so it’s not yet complete.
Right now, you can play through 2 different levels.
There are a few bugs here and there, but it still makes for a interesting clicky adventure. If you like point-and-click games, you’ll want to try out Mechanic 8230.
