Galactagirl is a platformer that’s reminiscent of Sonic and Shovel Knight.
It’s a very fast-paced game where you need to combo your abilities into one flashy chain through each level. You move quickly and you can parkour with platform jumping, sliding, grinding, slashing, and target attacks.
The game runs on a timer so you’re always aware of how much time you’ve taken and what your target time is. The point of the game is to make it through the level as quickly as possible. There’s little time to think about what you should be doing so it’s a very twitch-reflex game. There isn’t any puzzling platforms or mazes you have to solve. The game just pushes you through each level in a rush.
You have an HP bar and a saber. But the majority of the time, you’ll be using slides, down-thrusts, spiral jumps, and other awesome attacks as you blaze through the level. It’s a very refreshing retro platform adventure.
The graphics look just like the original Sega Sonic classics with 8-bit graphics and sounds. The game is a blast to play and you feel freakin’ awesome as you’re just blasting everything in your path and going fast.
It’s all about speed. Each level has the best time you need to beat.They each also have multiple branching paths you can take to complete it. if you’ve played Sonic, the attack system works the same- you lock onto enemies. It’s a very fun platformer and packed with a variety of abilities and parkour. If you like Sonic, you’ll probably like Galactagirl.
The game has you racing through the level finding the fastest path possible and just blazing like crazy. It’s a fun indie platformer you’ve gotta try out.
