Aftercharge is a novel FPS multiplayer game where two teams battle it out- a group of invincible (god-mode) security squadmates against a group of invisible robots.

Basically, the two teams need to use stealth to outwit the other team. The robots have an objective to destroy these energy beacons throughout the map that the security squad needs to defend. It required some planning and strategizing for a shooter game.
It’s a very fast-paced game where the two teams need duke it out in groups of three members. It’s not like your traditional shooter where you play through one big session, but rather it’s broken down into smaller matches that are played consecutively in a row.
The robots specialize in stealth and close-range attacks. The security squad specializes in hard-hitting equipment. The robots are invisible unless they attack, to which then they’ll be briefly revealed. The security squad is invincible and can’t be killed.
As you can see, this results in a very interesting game. The invisible robots must use cunning and wit to outplay the invincible security squad. They can use distractions in order to fool and trick them while they destroy the beacons. Each team also has a variety of specific characters each with their own abilities to play different roles. This adds extra depth to the game.
There are six beacons scattered throughout the map that the robots must destroy. These are dubbed “extractors.”
You can’t just run up to them and destroy them if you’re playing as a robot (unless the other team is bad). You’ll have to time your attacks and distract the security team. And the same goes for the security squad- the robots can’t be seen so you need to watch out for anything suspicious. Both teams with have to work together and coordinate in order to win. Robots need to time their attacks because melee attacking the beacons will reveal their location. And security needs to communicate when a robot is revealed.
Aftercharge is a pretty cool idea and offers a very fast-paced, intense FPS experience. The gameplay is definitely unique and offers a strategyical take on the genre. It’s a brand-new take on the asymmetrical multiplayer shooter and defintely worht a play.
