pla_toon is a cartoony military multiplayer FPS that’s kind of similar to browser-based online shooters.
It’s a game that features some appealing cartoony visuals with powerful weapons and destructible environments. You can grab yourself a gun, take down your enemies in a variety of game modes, and destroy the surroundings with your gun- or a vehicle! The game has a physics engine built in with ragdoll physics, so it’s funny and shooty at the same time. You can play with friends in standard FFA, TDM, and CTF modes with co-op base defense against bots in a planned release.
You can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives as you mow down your enemies. The game takes a simple approach to the genre with some fresh graphics- it’s like a breath of fresh air from all the clones upon clones out there. This is simple, but it works and is exactly the type of game design players have been itching for just from the “very positive” reviews on Steam.
The game is still in early access, but there are plenty of weapons and one vehicle so far. It’s nothing to be taken seriously, but it’s still a blast to play as you feel like you got lost in Toy Story or something as a toy soldier.
