Jonathan’s Whale is a weird little adventure game that’s all about a man and his pet whale. Yup. A whale.

The game takes place in the ocean at night time where you slowly paddle your way through the dark abyss. Is it really night time? Is it an ocean? Play it and find out.

You start out in a boat in a river within the city. You can see the city skyline, lights, and a sunset. As you progress through the experience, you can use your fishing rode to catch some of the city’s junk in the river. As you get further into the game, it gets kinda strange. You’ll have to find out for yourself. It gets pretty crazy. Very quickly.

Dock Sitting is a short introspective narrative experience where you play as a person sitting alone on a dock and reflecting life.

It’s not really about the gameplay but more of the experience. The game has you seeing the events in someone’s life in a first-person perspective. You get a little bit of backstory through thoughts and object interactions, but the majority of the game is just experiencing the experience. Get immersed on the dock. Take in the sea. Watch the moonlight. Listen to the waves. It’s really a work of art.

The game is definitely not for everyone though. It has some very basic interaction so it can be dull for some players. The game has a set scene so there’s not much to explore either.

But if you’re will be open-minded, you’ll appreciate the game for its simplicity. It has some nice artwork using geometric features and a sense of security through the music. The game expresses a simple human story as you share ane experience with the developer. It’s genius, real, and features a very relaxing experience that just slows down the everyday bustle.

Take some time and play Dock Sitting for that ounce of time to relax and sit by the docks.

Second Scholar is a grid-based puzzle game with some strange gameplay elements to it.

You play on a small grid and you have two dimensions- time and movement. When you move up and right, time progresses. When you move down and left, time reverses. You’re in control a spirit which is on a quest to help an Emperor. You need to complete a series of grid puzzles in order to do so.

The game’s two factors are time and movement, both of which affect how successfully you’ll be. If you move your character in a given direction, it’ll force time to move forward or back. When time forwards, objects will play out normally to match the flow of time.

When you reverse time, objects will revert to their natural positions. You want to make the right moves in order to solve the puzzle. It’s an interesting take and apparently, after doing some research they’re called “Sokoban” puzzles.

The graphics are nice and colorful and the game is pretty intense. It feels like a relaxing puzzler, but you get pretty annoyed and pissed off at a few parts if you’re not good with puzzle game or have no patience. You’ll have to not only deal with the movement of time, but also levers, portals, and moveable objects all over the grid.

Forager is a cute and apealing little top-down edxploration survival RPG.

It plays very similarly to games like The Legend of Zelda (the original) and Terraria where you need to farm, craft, fight, trade, build, explore a free world! It’s a fun, cute, and cheerful little adventure through the game’s creative and colorful world. You can find tons of things to explore and discover and it’ll reward you for it. The game also has a slower pace compared to its rivals, which is good so you don’t feel like you’re lost with too many things to do.

Forager starts you off on a single island which you’re free to explore at your own pace. You can cut down some trees, mine some rocks, and grab some fruit. It is a game where you need to constantly replenish yourself in order to make progress, so you do need to watch out for that and balance it with exploration. As you level up, you can craft more items and build more things. You can also farm crops and gain new skills as you get better at the game and level yourself up.

If you play enough, you can buy new islands to explore which contain more loot, new structures, NPCs, enemies, and even some pretty difficult bosses! You never know what’s next and you can forage and mine for rare resources to craft powerful items. You can build your base however you want and also build an economy to expand. NPCs are rare but they can provide valuable information. The game also has a few puzzle elements to solve.

This is the kind of game that you can just grab and play after a long day at work. It doesn’t require much thinking but is super addicting and will take you to another world. The current build has about 2 hours of gameplay and it’s just so amazing. Try out Forager for yourself and get lost!

Rusty’s Rail is a relaxed and wondrous little clicker game.

You run a transportation company and you need to deliver customers around the country. By doing so, you earn cash. use that cash to get some upgrades and repeat the process. You know how it is- it’s a clicker game.

The old steam train you’re running is pretty awesome. You ned to manage it as it moves from station to station and such. The game isn’t super complex, as each level has you just choosing a location and that’s it. You can click on the train to make it move faster and upgrade it at each station. The game has upgrades that allow you to improve the cabin, engine, and auto engine.

As with any clicker game, there isn’t much to it, but it’s still pretty interesting to play. You’ll likely get an hour or so out of it. The game has some nice artwork as you traverse between stations and you can relax with the scenery and listen to the calming music. There are also random incidents that take place on the train that are pretty entertaining to read. Passengers can do some pretty random things.

Re:Maze is a new twist on mazes.

It’s a first-person puzzle game where you need to put down markers in order to escape a maze. Sure, that’s easy and probably has been done before. But here’s the twist- you only have 80 steps to escape!

The game only allows you a fine limited number of steps to escape. If you don’t make it out in 80 steps, you fail. It adds a lot less aimless wandering to the game and also stops the “always go left” method of maze-escapement!

You’re dropped in a 3D maze and it looks gorgeous. It’s fully colored with low-poly visuals and all you need is a step counter and markers that you place on the walls. The maze consists of walls, bridges, inclines, and other small walkways that keep it fresh.

When you spawn in, you need to use your steps wisely and use the markers are you see fit. Use them for areas that look identical or to mark dead ends in the maze so you don’t end up retracing your same path.

When you use up all your 80 steps, you’re instantly respawned to another location. Randomly.

They don’t expect you to beat the game on your first try. You’ll likely have to use the markers and respawn multiple times over and over until you beat the game. It’s almost like there’s no penalty, but the fact that you lose your bearings every time you respawn adds a little bit of punishment to the game.

And the objective is to complete it in as few steps as possible, so you don’t want to wander aimlessly. The maze is pretty big and you’ll have to use landmarks and such to escape.

You get two different types of markers (red and green) and you can spray them on the walls like graffiti. Use them wisely, but don’t overdo or else you’ll confuse yourself for no good reason. It’d be awesome if the maze were randomly generated as well.

Re:Maze is a nice little first-person puzzler. It’s calm and relaxing with an immersive atmosphere that’ll have you feeling like you’re back in the Renaissance times or something. There are bricks and layered concrete everywhere and the maze loos like it’s falling apart. It’s a game of elimination as you make progress and get closer to the exit each time. If you like puzzle indie games, Re:Maze is worth a try!

Escape from Solar Sea Fortress is a very chill and relaxing indie puzzle game.

You’re basically stranded on a solar sea fortress and you need to escape by solving puzzles. They’re really weird puzzles. You have solar power batteries that you need to screw around with in order to solve puzzles based on mechanics and light.

The game has an awesome physics system with beautiful lighting effects. You need to solve puzzles by using light and dark. YOu have a battery that you carry around with you. It lights up when it’s fully charged and has the ability to provide power and light up the environment.

You need to solve all the puzzles in order to escape the fortress.

The puzzles get very difficult towards the end of the game. You may need to look up a walkthrough to solve them.

Overall, the game is very relaxing and has a soothing soundtrack. It’s a nice puzzler that kinda reminds you of Myst. The graphics area also very well done.
