Eternal September is a social music creation game.

The game, at its core, is a recording virtual DJ mixer where player actions are recorded and then played on a loop over and over in a game world. The concept is weird, but it’s actually pretty cool. The area consists of a building with a few rooms. You can pick up keyboards on the walls which allow you to create sounds with unique notes. As you play stuff, you can record it. You’ll also walk into some other weird things like viewing orb to walk into.

When you walk into the world, everything you do is recorded. Your music, movements, and everything else. When you log out, it’ll constantly play over and over in the game world. This means other players can see what you did, and you can go by other players’ recordings.

Do Not Feed The Monkeys is a very weird voyeur simulator game where you watch random strangers using security cameras.

You’d think it’s some creepy spying game (which it kinda is), but there’s a twist- you can’t interact with them. You’re a new member of a club called The Primate Observation Club, which watches people do random things.

You’re on a computer and you watch the “monkey’s do things like take notes, surf the internet, but stuff, read news, and even type emails. You watch what people do on their computer and you can actually mess around with them- but you’re not supposed.

But that’s the catch. While you can, and it’s definitely tempting, you shouldn’t. Try it out for yourself, and Do Not Feed The Monkeys!

L: An Interactive Mystery is a narrative mystery detective simulator game.

You take the role of a detective (you’re actually just her parent) and you need to find out what happened to your daughter- she disappeared and the only piece of evidence you have is her cellphone. You need to look through her phone and find out where she is. The catch is that there’s a limited amount of memory available on the phone and you have to delete files and apps in order to get new ones.

And there’s a limited battery life on it because you don’t have a charger, so you need to manage your snooping resources in order to maximize your chances of finding out what happened to her. Deleting stuff and installing stuff consumes power, so you need to pay attention to all information before you delete it.

The game is fully on her cell phone and you can browse apps, messages, and pictures saved on the phone as you discover more about her personal life. You need to find out her real side and what happened to her.

Stay Home is a first-person narrative adventure game that deals with some dark topics like depression, narcotics, and addiction.

You play as someone who recently has been diagnosed with agoraphobia. This is the fear of places that can make you panic or feel helpless, which often forces people to stay in their home and not leave it. Your character wants to go out and lead a normal life again but struggles to. That’s where you come in. You can get a firsthand experience as someone who’s under the influence of narcotics and addiction and is struggling to seek self-help.

The game plays like a simulator but has a huge spectrum of emotions your character will experience. Everything from fear, anger, confusion, depression, panic, and even some happiness are all experienced through the hour-long playtime. The game has interactive objects as you attempt to get your life back in shape.

You can solve puzzles, discover the backstory, and just get sucked into the excellent narration of the game. You have a friend who’s trying to get you through this, and the game balances the internal and external struggles of agoraphobia.

Stay Home is really a one-of-a-kind game. Try it out if you’re looking for something different.

A Case for Watson is a trippy detective simulator game where you play as one of the most popular detectives known to man! Well, at least his partner.

It aims to be an authentic detective simulator as you play as Watson to solve a murder before Sherlock arrives on the scene to steal your thunder. The game is unique because it’s not easy. You can’t just walk into a room and have all the hints and clues highlighted for you. You’ll actually have to LOOK for and FIND the clues in order to solve the murder. It’s not all laid out for ya like in many other puzzle games. If you’re playing this game, you’re playing it for the puzzles and thinking involved.

You look around the room and use your notepad to take notes about the place and sketch objects of interest. You can kind of take virtual photos using this sketchbook and also chat with various NPCs and “keep” notes about them by dragging/dropping their sentences they say into your notes. Everything they say can be logged in your notebook, so just take note of the important stuff. It’s really an authentic detective simulator and probably the most detailed one I’ve come across so far.

If you really like murer/puzzle games, try out A Case for Watson. When you think you’re ready, you’ll be quizzed by Sherlock Holmes on your deductions and you’ll have to find out everything about the scene. You’ll literally be quizzed on the most random things you’d never guess! It’s time to be the best detective you can ever be!

Package Man is Paper Boy grown up.

You’ve graduated from throwing out newspapers in a top-down isometric view and now you’re going to work with the best delivery company in the world. But this time, you need to do everything including loading your van, driving and delivering packages of course. You’re a man now, so you gotta do a man’s work.

You work 7 days a week with no days off. That’s how manly you are. The game has rotating maps depending on the day of the week that are randomly rotated, except Monday. The game is based on getting the most point for successful deliveries- get more points by smashing doors, windows, and garages.

There’s even a leaderboard to show off who’s the best Package Man in the world! Each map has random houses, random packages, random maps with different time of day, destructible environments, and plenty of things to smash up to bits.

It’s really moving to see how far Paper Boy has come. Now you gotta do the grown’s ups work. Welcome to Package Man!

Ready for some pointless entertainment? Try Manny The Fly!

It’s a game where you play as a dancing fly. There’s no point to the game- no goal, no action, no nothing. It’s just a scene with a ragdoll fly dancing around the dance floor as another fly stares at him dance. You can use a few dance moves like jumping, popping, and raising the roof. You can also adjust your flexibility or something- I can’t really say what it is.

You can do a few moves for now, but it’s an early access demo currently looking for feedback.

You just help Manny break out his moves as a ragdoll. It’s very pointless and you’ll get bored in about 5 minutes. But it’s a ragdoll dancing sim. You can’t beat that.

T-Rex Breakout is like Jurassic Park in video game format with just the chase scene.

The game is boviously inspired by the awesome movie.  You start out in a green jeep that’s strikingly similar to the one in the movie. A giant dino has just broken out of its fencing and is now looking for some meat. It stomps around the area and notices you. You can watch it eat you alive or you can make a run for it. It’s up to you.

The game features gorgeous weather, dirt, rain, and animations in the car and dinosaur. It’s not really a game exactly, but more of an interactive scene from the movie. It’s an experience that lets you do what you want. You can even exit the vehicle and run around while you try to avoid getting eaten. You can’t actually drive the car, but you can run for the bathroom if you dare. It really does feel like you’re playing the game every Jurassic Park game wanted to be.

Depraved is a neat little city builder with survival elements combined. It plays like an older builder sim.

It’s a top-down game with some old-school graphics that’ll remind you RuneScape or something. You need to establish a city, expand your towns, and build outposts in order to help your city dwellers survive. The game takes place during Wild West times or something like that. Don’t quote me.

The game has a variety of inhabitants such as pioneers, settlers, and citizens. Each does their own thing and acts accordingly. You need to satisfy their needs and meet basic resources like food, water, and firewood.

Each class is good at something and you need to fully utilize them in order to prosper your town. Nurturing them with resources will help them build up your village and expand it. Supply chains and outposts will later be needed in order to protect them from wild animals, starvation, attacks, bandits, and diseases.

The game has procedurally-generated worlds so it never looks the same. Every resident has their own needs. You can also build production chains to further process goods and materials. The weather and seasons also change with time.

Depraved is still widely in early development but has been out for a while. If you like city builders, try out this game. It has a lot of attention to detail and is one of the newer indie city builders I’ve come across that offers something unique.

Boxing Surgery Simulator 2000 is an awesome surgery simulator that has you patching up a boxer from the wounds and scars during a crazy boxing match!

If you’ve played Surgeon Simulator, it’s kinda like that- in a very, very loose and subjective manner. You play as a ringside surgeon that needs to patch up wounds on a boxer’s face between every single round. You probably already know that a boxer will take some nasty blows to the face. Bruises, cuts, scars, wounds, and even missing teeth. They’re all part of the program!

That’s where you come in to the rescue.

You’re armed with an assortment of ready-to-go surgery items like cotton balls, adhesive strips, scalpels, glue, razors, icicles, a fishing hook, and even spare teeth! The game is obviously full of humor and not even the slightest bit supposed to be taken seriously. seriously.

All you need to do is fix up the boxer between each fight. Do the best you can with whatever tools you have at your disposal. Every match has a fight and then a patch up scene. You can’t do anything when your boxer is in the ring but you can cheer him on by clicking on encouraging dialog boxes.

I’m not sure if this has any effect on the game overall, but it’s funny to call him some less-than-motivating words. After the fight’s over, you get 15 seconds to patch him up as much as you can as fast as you can. It’s funny to see how much damage he takes and how much more damage you’re causing him overall.

You have to use your wide arsenal of professional grade tools and use the right one for the right job. I don’t want to spoil anything so you’ll have to play it for yourself and learn what to use in what situation. You’ll have to try and fail a few time before you get it right because it’s one of those games where it’s trial-and-error. Once you’ve healed him up a few times, you’ll get it and understand what to use.
