Fail Composite is a couch co-op multiplayer indie game of criminal telephone.
It’s a police criminal sketch artist simulator between you and your friends! One player tries to recall the details of a criminal’s face after being shown briefly. This player is the victim of a crime. The victim only gets just a few short seconds to remember everything about a criminal’s face that shows on the screen. All other players are supposed to look away at this point to not spoil the fun.
This player then has to tell the second player who plays as the professional sketch artist and must try to draw the precise details. This player plays the role of the sketch artist. The game gives you a cozy selection of drawing tools that are easy to use to keep it simple. It’s nearly impossible to accurately draw the face, so it’ll always end up looking super goofy. But this only adds to the fun.
Then, a third player needs to use the sketch to identify the criminal in a lineup of random criminals. It’s like if you and your friends all got jobs at a police station together. This player is the identifier. This job is probably the more difficult one because sometimes there are two criminals that look very similar and choosing amongst them from a bad sketch is a difficult task.
It’s a 3-player local multiplayer game that promises a good time. Since three is an “odd” number, it can also be played with just two people- one is the victim and the other plays both sketch artist and lineup picker-outer. Either way, it’s still a blast to play with a buddy.
With the victim relaying all the details about the criminal, the composite artist will usually end up emphasizing (and overdoing) special features about the game face.
For example, if the victim says he had giant eyes, the sketch artist may literally do giant eyes on a tiny face so it looks like some sort of wacky cartoon or caricature.
Then when the lineup guy has to decide he has no idea what he’s looking at. It’s best played with three people for maximum hilariousness. The majority of the time it’ll look like a preschooler’s rendition of a human given the limited drawing tools- but this only guarantees a good laugh.
This is what would happen if you and two of your friends worked at a police station together. It’s the best crime scene sim local co-op indie multiplayer game I’ve ever played. Try out Fail Composite with your friends and let the laughs come!
