Outlier is an awesome first-person puzzle adventure.

It takes place in a dark and immersive world where you need to use security cameras and computers to hack your way through a machine world. You’re a robot that’s the last of your kind and you need to escape from a hive mind computer that’s taking over all robots in the world. There are a lot of infected computers already, so you need to use your abilities to evade them and hack your way through security gates and cameras.

If you’ve played Watch Dogs, it’s kind of like that in a very, very loose manner. You need to hack cameras in order to guide beams of energy across a path to their destination. It’s a puzzle game where you need to figure out how mechanics work, but it’s not too difficult.

The game also has a few parts where you need to sneak around and dodge robots, but it’s kind of annoying because they move slowly across the environment and you’re just waiting the whole time. Either way, Outlier is a unique little puzzle adventure game that’s very atmospheric and wroth a play.

The Butler is a creepy game where you need to escape a giant mansion from a crazed slasher butler!

Well, I’m not sure if he’s really a slasher or not, but the game does indeed give you the feeling that an evil butler that roams the mansion is on-the-hunt to find you and take you down. The game plays like traditional Slender where you have to navigate the mansion and find keys in order to escape- with a twist!

The twist is that he’ll ask you questions as you explore. He’s on the lookout for intruders (you) and he’ll constantly interrogate you in order to find out if you’re telling the truth or not. If you’re not, and you lie to him, he’ll get pretty angry and you’ll have to see what happens.

As you explore the mansion, you don’t really know where he is but he gives clues like random whistling and such. You’ll always feel like you’re being hunted though, which makes you feel like rushing and working quickly. He’ll ask you random questions that you need to reply to in order to escape. You need to decide how to best approach each situation.

The atmosphere is creepy and dark and just draws you in. It’s suspenseful but at the same time, it’s very chase-scene-like. You don’t know where he is and you don’t know if he’ll chase you or not. He could be anywhere. It makes you paranoid about it.

The only useful equipment you get is a flimsy flashlight, so you’ll never feel armed from the butler.

The game has a few rough edges and some frame-skipping, but other than that, it’s a nice little indie horror game that offers a unique twist to the overdone Slender genre. Woodfarer is a gorgeous adventure game that takes place in a colorful forest.

It’s a dungeon-crawler that allows you explore different areas of a post-apocalyptic forest and gather lost spirits and lead them to the exit of it. It takes place with a top-down perspective in a high-contrast world with animated objects that looks like something from the 70s.

The game is awesome because the world around you is constantly generated and always new. It’s about finding your way around a forest with it changing every single time you play, so it’s literally like you’re lost in a forest every playthrough. You’ll have to map out the area and explore it in order to complete the game.

It’s not difficult to complete. All you need to do is get 3 spirts and bring them back to the giant shrine. But every time you play, it’s a different layout. It’s almost like a minigame of some sort. Each time you collect a spirit, it’ll follow you around like a duckling. You can carry multiple ones at the same time. You also get a handy-dandy compass that acts like a sonar reticule to help you locate the entities.

The map has a variety of things to keep you busy- enemies that chase you around, archers and giant frog-humans that try to take you down, and even some puzzles that you’ll have to solve. The spirts you collect can help you fight off the baddies and some are necessary to solve the puzzles as well.

As you may have guessed, Woodfarer is all about exploration. If you explore, you’ll wander into a lost forest every time you play. There’s a lot to see and interact with. Explore the woods. Take down the baddies. Solve the puzzles. Get the treasures.

It’s all about exploration. The game can be completed in just a few minutes if you rush through it. But if you’re the type that likes to take their time (and maybe even roleplay a bit), you’ll have a really good time with this game. The game rewards you for exploring with some pretty awesome items like HP increases and points.

You need to take your time with Woofarere and immersive yourself to get the full experience.

Dream of Me is a trippy twist on reality in escape-room form.

It’s a psychedelic indie adventure where you play as a character named David. You’re an aspiring photographer and you’ve been awoken by someone knocking on your door. However, you realize that something is terribly off about the world you’re in- even if you’ve seen it before.

Your camera is your sacred item and it’s the only item you trust. You’ll have to use its lens to see the “truth” behind the game.

That’s when you’ll realize and question if the game is an escape room or escape world- as the dev likes to put it.

The game has you exploring the world around you. There’s a guiding character that sorta explains what you need to do and what’s the story behind you and this world. Are you really in another world, or is David just having fun with the latest tech called DreamOS? Either way, the game (or rather, demo), keeps you questioning reality until you get to the very end of it.

Dream of Me is an exploration game. You’re free to explore the abandoned world that’s serene and quiet. The only company you have are your own thoughts and the mysterious guide that follows you around. If you’ve played other indie titles like Gone Home, you’ll get the gist of it.

There’s a lot of interaction with various items around the building. Your only objective is to explore the house and find out what’s going on. But that’s the fun of it. Uncover the story behind David and do it by exploring an eerie, yet familiar, building. Almost everything can be interacted with and you’ll  have to do so in order to progress.

You’ll find journals scattered around the world as well that give in to the story. This is where most of the storytelling is done.

There are a few puzzles to solve. Some are difficult, but most are pretty easy. It also creates a very awkward kind of atmosphere. The house you’re in looks cozy and comfortable, but it feels very empty at the same time, and you’ll feel kind of suspensful during a few parts. It has some horror elements to it as well that’ll make you feel like a jumpscare is approaching. Solve puzzles. Explore. And uncover David’s story. The visuals in this game will get you immersed because they’re very well done and create a very atmospheric experience.

The game does have some slow parts, but once you get around them it’s actually a very interesting experience. This game isn’t for those who want fast-paced action. It’s for those who want a nice indie exploration adventure that’ll take you to another world (literally). It’s all about getting immersed in this second world and just enjoying the scenery.

Legion: The Eternal War is an awesome new MMORPG that takes place in (another) Lord of the Rings-type world.

It’s pretty much another game that wages the war between Elves and Humans.

However, this time around, there’s another force that has risen because of the torn planet due to the war. The two races have been so focused on each other that they totally let a newer, more powerful force arise that’s destructive to both of them.

This fifty-year war allowed their leaders to be killed by this unknown faction. The game has you playing in a world that’s been torn apart between three factions in a chaotic environment.

Storyline aside, it’s pretty much another MMORPG. There are hundreds of these types of clones out there, but only a few are actually quality games and offer something new to the table (that works). Legion: The Eternal War has you playing as a wandering traveler who can choose between the two factions to form allies with.

The game is heavily combat-based with melee, ranged, and mana magic-based fights against other players, mobs, and NPCs (from what’s expected). It has a pretty sophisticated weapon, shields, and armor system as well. Your equips can lose durability at a specific part rather than the entire piece from what it looks like.

The game also doesn’t just throw out experience points for killing an enemy. You’ll have to use skills and get rewarded based on your combat performance. For example, if you use a sword to kill an enemy, you’ll be rewarded skill points for your sword. It’s kinda like Morrowind.

As of now, Legion: The Eternal War is nothing but an alpha game that’s coming out for beta soon. You can sign up early to grab a key.

This game does have some nice things going for it- detailed environments, a sophitcated equip system, and an awesome skill and level system as well. And it’s got some storyline behind it as well. Sign up for a key if RPGs are your thing. You’ll probably wnat to try this one out.

Scorch is a first-person adventure where you need to crack the case of a murder scene.

It’s an atmospheric, narrative adventure game that has you scavenging the area for clues and evidence so you can solve the mystery of whodunit.

You’re a detective named Gary Price with a bad habit of drinking. And you’re on a final court warning. So you decide to take this one case pretty seriously in order to earn the respect back from the court. The game plays like Firewatch and Gone Home- it’s like a hybrid of them.

You walk around the scene and investigate the area. You can perform basic actions like examining the environment and looking for specific objects. Scorch has you scouring the area for evidence. You need to find out who the killer was and how the killer did it. You need to for clues that suggest the motives behind the attack and such.

Scorch turns this little scene into a whole egg hunt and makes it pretty immersive to play. It has an original story with full voice acting. The objects are all interactive and it even has a day/night cycle.

Without spoiling the game, try it out if you like mystery games. It’s an awesome little detective simulator that’s a blast to play.

Late Night Wanderer is an atmospheric horror game that’ll immerse you in and scare the @*%! out of you!

It’s a game where you play as any normal being and all you need to do is go home. It’s just you and the empty streets. A few rustling brushes here. A few dim streetlights there. And maybe some lone abandoned buildings. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s a late night walk home in the dark. You’ll need to use your smartphone’s light just for those extra dark areas where the lighting is poor. But you quickly notice that there is indeed some danger lurking about in the dark of night.

The game is a very immersive and atmospheric experience. The simplicity of it and the realism is just through the roof. You’ll feel kind of suspenseful at first. Then you’ll start to feel extremely doubt and uncertainty. Then you’ll full-out feel paranoia. It’s a very nice play on the darkness of the night you have to wade through in order to get to the warmth and coziness of the home you’re trying to reach.

Without spoiling the experience, just know that you’ll likely get sucked into a state of heightened awareness. You’ll feel anxious. You’ll feel regret. You’ll get jumpscared.

Try out Late Night Wanderer if you like suspensful horror games. It’s a very well-done first-person horror game that’ll immerse you in it and not let go.

Obscurity is a scary first-person horror game that has you exploring some deep, abandoned cave systems.

You play as an unknown character who suddenly wakes up in a dense forest. (Haven’t we seen this plot somewhere else?) The woods are nice and bright, but for some reason, you can’t resist venturing off to an abandoned cave entrance. Your only objective is to explore and discover why you’re here. The cave is interesting, and it may give you clues. So you decide to check out the cave system nearby, and it doesn’t look too hostile. Aren’t you making a mistake?

Oh well, perhaps your character is an adventurer who craves danger. *Cue Indiana Jones theme.

As you enter the cave, it’s creepingly dark. The game starts giving you some nice visuals that are just gorgeous to look at. Other than the complete darkness here and there, there are some areas where it really just looks so surreal.

It’s built on UE4 so everything looks amazing.

As you venture further, the game starts getting freakin’ scary. You start running into a few surprises here and there that may give you some jump scares. You quickly learn that you’re not alone in the caves.

The game gets a lot darker as you get deeper. It’s also a lot more difficult when you start encountering the enemy that lurks in the caves. Obscurity does indeed have an HP system, and thus you need to watch out for your status.

You’ll be exploring large rooms, tight tunnels, dark hallways, dungeons, and a lot more. The game has a lot of special lighting effects to make it extra scary- you’ll see flames, moving lights, and the light you emit from your torch.

Yes, you get a torch. It’s the only way you’ll see light other than the natural lighting in the form of fire pits and static torches. It doesn’t emit much though, so you’ll have to get up close and personal with the environment to see anything.

Obscurity is a gorgeous-looking horror game that’s currently free to play. The only issue with it is the checkpoint system. It plays like a rogue-like in the way that you’ll have to start from the beginning if you get killed. It’s very annoying and you’ll likely be killed a few times over when playing it. The jumpscares are still scary though, even when you’re kinda expecting them.

Other than that, the game is super creepy and the enemy you have to encounter is just nasty. Obscurity is worth a play through. The game is currently in early access and can be downloaded with the links that follow. Its visuals, sounds, and a creepy enemy will keep you on edge.

The scares are also scripted for the most part, but there are unscripted scares as well. This means some scares aren’t always the same, which will keep you constantly afraid. If you’re looking for a scary first-person horror game, this is worth a try.

Abo Khashem is an open-world RPG that takes place in the Middle East.

Think games like GTA or Saints Row, but then take it via a comedic twist.

You play as a Middle Easter guy with a partner that’s a talking lizard. You need to explore the city, do quests, buy stuff, earn influence points, and yeah. It’s one weird game.

You even fight bosses.

The story goes as follows: you wake up with no idea how you got into the city (Torrid), and you’re trying to figure out what you’re doing. Your lizard friend is always by your side and offers some advice. You guys start exploring the city together to kick ass and uncover the whole storyline. You can do a lot of things in Torrid, and the city is huge. Besides driving vehicles, you can learn abilities to use in combat and learn new martial arts. You can even play minigames, race other drivers, get epic loot, and buy property. You can even run your own business as a CEO and hire/fire employees. How in-depth is that?

Abo Khashem is a funny game that’s very well done and creates a game that will have you thinking about GTA. The whole game looks awesome, plays fludily, and has immersion for sure. It’s made by just a small group of indie developers, so you can’t expect it to be an AAA title. But for the amount of effort you see put into the game, it’s definitely worth an hour of your time.

Hockey fans rejoice. NHL 18 is here with some awesome new features.

EA’s yearly hockey game this time around comes with some new features and gameplay tweaks. There’s a new Creative Attack control scheme, improved AI, team creation, a Defensive Skill Stick, and a new 3-on-3 arcade mode. The two that are brand-new features are the Creative Atack and Defensive Skill. They both add new ways to play the popular NHL series and allows you to use a whole new arsenal of ways to score.

You’ll need to get creative and think of new ways to counter them as well. There’s poke checks, controlled sweeps, and other precision attacks.

The new arcade mode is where you pit 3 vs. 3 players against each other in a fast-paced game. Everything’s sped up, including ice, goals, and hits. There are also fewer rules to draw in those who aren’t hardcore hockey fans but want to experience the game. You can even play a dedicated campaign mode in this new way to play the game, including going against different fantasy teams, unlocking stuff, getting jerseys, logos, players, and other rewards.

If you’re a hardcore fan, you’ll appreciate the 32nd NHL custom team creation. Like the other games in the series, NHL 18 will bring back what players want with new gameplay elements.

NHL 18 is available for both PS4 and Xbox One and will feature everything you expect from it.
