Aria’s Story is a horror exploration RPG inspired by the Japanese horror game Ib.
It’s a game where you need to explore a giant mansion as a young girl named Aria. Aria is a bookworm who always spends her time reading in the library reading adventure stories.
However, she falls asleep one day and wakes up when the library has closed for the day. She then has to find a way out but discovers there’s a lot more to reading than she thought. She becomes the main character in her own story.
You need to solve puzzles, look for clues, and discover the story of why you’re here (like many other horror games). The goal is to escape the library, but it’s a lot darker than that. The game combines cute and creepy into one game for a weird, psychological thriller of a horror game.
Without spoiling the game, you’ll be glued to your screen as you explore the secrets of this giant library. You’ll have to look through every nook and cranny in order to find a way out and find out what the library is hiding. The games does include gore and jumpscares- both of which will get you in the least expected manner.
Aria’s Story features a top-down view with beautiful artwork that’ll remind you classics like Secret of Mana. Although the artwork is kind of chibi, you’ll still get scared by the many cute and cuddly jumpscares this game has tucked up its sleeve.
If you like psychological thriller games, give Aria’s Story a try. It’s free to play and a very atmospheric adventure that’ll draw you in.
