Orc Colony is a pretty cool strategy game where you control a huge colony of orcs underground, kinda like Fallout Shelter.

You mine, build, craft, and complete quests. You can even raid human settlements that are nearby. The game has you building a huge tunnel network as you dig through the earth to find valuable resources in order to craft items. You can mine and build your base in any direction you want, but the best valuables are deep inside the earth and you’ll have to work your way through in order to mine them.

You’ll come across various materials like rocks, silver, copper, iron, mithril, emeralds, and more. You can use them to smelt into gold while the stone can be used as building material for new buildings in order to expand your base. Weapons, armor, and other blueprints can be used to deck out your army in order to raid a human settlement or sold for more cash.

You work under your orc king who’ll give you random quests for your fulfill. If you fulfill them, he’ll be happy. You need to complete these quests to best of your ability because if you don’t, you’re kicked out!

The best part about Orc Colony is definitely the crafting. You need to build as many materials as possible with all the valuables you mine from exploration. You need to them keep goblin porters running as they sustain your colony.

You also need to build various rooms to keep porters and orcs happy, such as butchers, kitchen, piggeries, and other structures in order to keep your colony chugging along. If one thing goes awry, your colony can collapse under its own weight. An example would be no food. If you starve your colony, orcs will leave and never come back. Then you’ll lose your workforce. Then your colony will fall apart piece by piece!

The game is extremely addicting and perfect for anyone who’s into strategy sims. Try out Orc Colony for yourself as the game is still in early access right now before it blows up and they start charging you to play! But by then, you’ll probably be so addicted you’ll have no problem paying for this fresh new strategy game.

Rogue Heist is an online multiplayer third-person shooter that plays very similarly to PAYDAY.

It’s a strategic shooter where you’ll need to work with your team in order to succeed. The game pits 6v6 where both teams attempt to ambush a convoy and steal the most packages. They’ll have to watch out for security and the opposing team in order to beat them. Each team will have an equal opportunity, but you can’t just run and gun. It requires strategy and cooperation with your team and plenty of plans and backup plans.

There are also classes players can choose to play as, which means different roles for each player. Assault classes are good at taking down enemy players whereas Snipers are the support and take out primary targets.

The packages are the primary object and they’re locked behind a safe which will require a hacking process to snag. During the hacking, that player is vulnerable and must be guarded by teammates. They can also steal your packages as you’re carrying them back to your extraction point.

You can sign up for beta to test the game. Rogue Heist is an interesting concept and seems like a game to play with friends. It’s set to launch Summer 2018 at $19.99.

Crying Suns is an awesome roguelike space game with real-time combat in a huge procedurally-generated universe.

The game will instantly remind you of FTL. You play as a captain on a space fleet who’s been awakened by a robot called OMNI. You’re then supposed to sail your ship through space and solve a mysterious communication severance between your spaceship and the Galactic Empire. If you refuse to accept the mission, go for it. It’s funny to see what happens.

You then travel between different solar systems and fight other enemy ships in real-time strategy vehicular combat. Defeat them to progress and gain resources. As you get more stuff, you can upgrade your ship and manage your resources to be fully optimized. The game has a narrative going alongside the combat, so it never feels like you’re just grinding. The ships you command also is aligned on a hex-based grid instead of a huge single entity.

The space exploration is awesome with squadron-based fleet combat. The storyline is dramatic and spans multiple chapters. The resource management system is also pretty cool where Scrap is the currency of the game which is used to buy weapons, ships, and upgrades. Neo-N is fuel for your ship. And Commandos are used as cannon fodder and foot soldiers to get resources.

The game also has a huge map that provides you the layout for each star cluster to make it easy to navigate. You need to spend gas in order to investigate a cluster, so you need to choose wisely. When you choose a point, you’ll either get an encounter, a fight, or a planetary expedition where you can find some resources.

There are also over 300 events which can happen, such as multiple branching paths. You also get bosses, unit customization, upgrades, expeditions, and even heroes which have unique abilities. Every victory means you get some nice upgrades for your ship.

Crying Suns is currently playable as a demo. It sports roguelike strategic space fights with a mix of retro and modern pixel art. The game has a nice dose of space combat, exploration, and pausable fights. The backstory is what’ll keep you glued to the game though.

T-ROT The Last Probe is a difficult third-person shooter with a mix of tower defense all into one game.

You play as a small robot who needs to defend his cargo from invading attackers. You have a variety of weapons that range from automatics to rocket launchers, but you also have the ability to command an entire fleet of towers to defend your cargo!

The game plays in waves similar to any TD game. You have a choice of seven total different towers but you get to only select four at the beginning of each match. You can choose from Flames, Lasers, Electric, Turrets, and Barricades. There are a total of seven waves of enemies with a big boss at the end.

Each wave ends and allows you to build your defense just like any other TD game. You can place turrets, block paths, and use your strategies that you’ve gained all throughout the years to take on another exciting TD. The third-person shooting phase is probably the most entertaining and you work synergistically with your turrets.

Each wave gets progressively more difficult with the boss being the kicker. If you like TD, try out T-ROT The Last Probe for a fusion of genres. The game’s page and description are in French, but you can easily use a translator to translate it.

Defending Camelot is an awesome tower defense game with colorful visuals and artwork that’ll give Plants vs. Zombies a challenge for best visuals!

You play as a guy named Arthur who can use a variety of warriors on the field to prevent a bunch of zombie hordes from invading Camelot. The game has you placing different types of warriors on the grid each with unique abilities. Some are offensive while others are defensive. If you’ve played ANY TD game on the planet, you know exactly how it works.

The playing field is divided into 5 lanes and monsters will approach your back row. If you fail to defend it, the game’s over. The zombies range in speed, movement, defensive, offensive, and some can even change lanes. Planting warriors cost gold which is gathered by farmers. Most units will only attack or defend against monsters in the same lane, but later on, the game gets pretty difficult and you’ll have to act quickly and strategically in order to take down the horde!

Monsters can wear armor and also fly and jump over units, just like in PvZ. There are also bosses that’ll be present in each level and the occasional huge wave of zombies!

There are total of 99 levels, 33 enemies, 44 units, and bosses. the game takes over 100 hours to beat and it has a campaign and endless mode also. Pretty awesome and a well-done game for those who like TD games. Definitely worth a play! You can play the demo right now and see the impressive visuals for yourself.

The Fertile Cresent is an RTS game that takes place during the Bronze Age.

It’s a game that’s currently in alpha testing so it’s pretty limited in visuals and sounds. Otherwise, it’s your basic isometric RTS game where you need to train villages and warriors to harvest resources and defend your base. The game has a few buildings to expand your village and research for developing technologies. It’s pretty much your standard RTS.

The game has meters like food which is required to sustain your population. As you get resources, you’ll have to build buildings and expand your village. There are a few buildings and variety of units you can build in this demo.

The demo also has an emeny tribe you can attack on a randomly-gneerated map. It’s still in need of a lot of mechanics like unit groupoing, but if you like simple RTS games, this is one you should check out. The art style is minimalistic and makes it feel very approachable so it’s sorta like a city-builder. Try it out yourself using the link below!

Murderous Pursuits is a unique Victorian-era multiplayer stealth-em-up game where you need to hunt and kill your target before you get killed yourself- and avoid any witnesses.

It’s a game that involves stealth and strategy into one awesome experience. A man named Mr. X invites you and others to sneak and kill each other on a giant ship.

The game is developed by some of the same people who made The Ship and Thie Ship: Remastered. It’s a stealth game that has you trying to camouflage yourself on a giant ship and take out key targets without being discovered! You’re up against 7 other human players all aboard the HMCS Britannic and your only mission is to kill the others.

You can choose from 8 playable characters. You customize the skin and such so you can blend in with the crowd.

But it’s not that easy. You need to act like a regular passenger and avoid revealing yourself.

Pick a target. Find them. And kill them.

While being a target at the same time.

That’s right. The game has you sneaking around the ship looking for your targets. But as you watch and stalk your target, someone could very well be watching you as well. You need to blend in with the NPC passengers on the ship, the environment, and sometimes the other players in order to not get discovered and killed first! It’s a concept that’s only been done a few times, but it’s usually not done with this level of detail.

The game allows you to use the entire ship to your advantage. You’re free to walk anywhere on the ship and utilize everything you can to not be the odd man out. You need to do your best to blend in with the rest of the sheep or risk getting killed. The ship hides a lot of loot you can use as well. You’ll need everything you can because you don’t know how skilled the other players are and what they’re thinking. The game has four different locations on the colonial ship, such as a Music Hall or Engine House.

It’s like a mental game of chess on a boat with special abilities, a hitlist, and lots of lethal assassins.

You need to stay undercover until you’re sure you can kill your target without getting killed yourself. It’s all about watching, stalking, and thinking like a hawk/fox hybrid! You need to use a blend of strategy and stealth in order to successfully take out your chosen killers. Running and gunning probably won’t work.

Murderous Pursuits also gives you some skills and abilities to aid you in the process. There are a total of five, but you can only use two per match. You can disguise yourself to pose as just another NPC. You can also counter and flash the other players to escape or trick them.

The game features both solo offline play or online play with 8 players. You can customize the game options and even add bots if needed. Murderous Pursuits is a very interesting game that looks like a blast to play. You can sign up for the beta using the link below to get into the arena first for a “killer” time!

Ancestors Legacy is an awesome RTS game based in medieval times!

It’s not just your typical RTS though, it has some unique concepts and features that make it stand out from the crowd and not just another Starcraft clone set in the times of knights and armor.

For starters, it’s a squad-based RTS. The game was previously in invite-only beta, but now has made a ton of progress and is available for anyone to sign up and play. The game is being made by a team called Destructive Creators and has very impressive graphics and animations. It’s almost like each unit is actually a unit and not just a clone of another one. Imagine if The Sims was an RTS game. The game even has a full day/night cycle, weather, and cutscenes as well.

The multiplayer battles are also very impressive. You can choose from Anglo-Saxon, Slav, German, and Viking armies and the game focus on up close and personal battles against enemy forces with less of a focus on building and resource management. You could think of it kinda like Dynasty Warriors with a touch of resource management- kinda.

The game only awards you resources when you take over enemy or neutral villages. You’ll need to venture out and destroy enemies in order to snowball your army. You can’t just camp and turtle inside your base or else you’ll have no army to defend yourself! The game encourages you to explore and conquer rather than stay in your base and resource management. It’s not dependant on how you can micromanage or how fast you can press your hotkeys.

You can also upgrade the villages you capture and villagers can be managed to collect precious resources as well.

The game takes the RTS genre and puts it in blitz mode. It’s more about action and less about metrics like actions per minutes (APM). Ancestors Legacy is a fresh take on the RTS experience that’s all action and no wait with impressive visuals run by the UE4.  It’s currently available for beta sign up.

Overcrowd is an awesome little indie isometric strategy game. It’s a “commute ’em up!”

If you’ve any of the Tycoon games, or you’re a fan of business-themed games, you’ll definitely want to check this game out. It’ll be available in Spring 2018 for early access.

You’re basically a transportation tycoon and you need to run, build, expand, and operate stations located in the London Underground. The game plays in a top-down isometric perspective like any other similar game in the same genre. You start out with a small station that’s relatively quiet and eventually, you’ll build your way into a super busy metro station.

You start working on the outer zones and move towards the center of the city and the largest station.

The ultimate goal is to minimize congestion between stations and keep all the commuters traveling efficiently and happy. But it’s a lot more difficult than it sounds!

Overcrowd has many hours of gameplay because each level throws a new scenario at you. You have a specific allocated budget that you must use wisely in order to beat the level. Obstacles like natural rock, staff management, and traffic flow optimization are just the icing on the cake. Every single station you need to overlook has a unique set of problems that you need to fix.

You have to hire security guards, medics, stewards, and even janitors to keep your hub clean. The game is detailed with tons of menus, notifications, and tools for you to examine and analyze in order to optimize your station. They each have unique skills and attributes, which can be leveled up as well. The game goes all out.

Each level has its own unique objectives and challenges. They also have a limited area of play. You need to build entrances and tracks in specific locations over 4 levels. There are rocks you can’t break that make your building and design a puzzle. If you complete a challenge, you can unlock better tech and staff (and stations).

A sandbox mode is also planned for the game.

The graphics are colorful and offer multiple levels of zoom. Each commuter randomly generated and can be utilized to better your traffic flow. They respond to the environment and have a happiness meter. You need to earn rep by keeping them happy. The game has a lot to offer for an indie game of this scale. It’s packed with a simple and colorful theme, but there’s a lot of strategic undertone to the whole game.

If you’re into strategy tycoon games, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.

Lordz.io is an awesome and addicting little RTS game that focuses on strategic tactical gameplay.

As with all the other popular .io games, Lordz runs straight in your browser requiring no downloads or emulators. You can literally jump right into a game within seconds!

The game takes place with you building up an army and controlling them to defeat your opponents. You can forge alliances with other players and work together to defeat your common enemy. It’s not to be taken too seriously because the game does have a touch of humor to it.

Although, even with all the comical nonsense, the game is still very deep in terms of strategy.

You’ll build up a huge group of soldiers (like literal dozens of them) and also build up a civilization. It takes place in medieval times so you’ll be harvesting gold in order to expand your base. You can build houses, mage towers, and even archery towers to defend your base.

The gold mines are your only source of currency and must be built upon gold deposits you find scattered all over the map. The more you have, the faster gold income you get. This means faster army output, which is key to winning the war!

The gold deposits aren’t just lying around though. They’re often occupied by other players already so you need to take over them by using brute force. Establish your army and amass a huge group of soldiers and then attack a gold mine to capture it.

After you take over it, it becomes yours and you need to defend it. Obviously, the more mines you own the faster your income. But you need to then defend all of them and spend soldiers to defend each one.

If you join a game where the mines are already all taken, you can also get income by just collecting the loot scattered around the map and also by killing enemy units!

The gold income is key. Use it to build more units or expand your base. You start off with weak soldiers that are easily killed and are pretty much used as fodder early on.

If you climb the tech tree high enough, you’ll be able to tech to awesome units like dragons (that breathe fire). Each unit has its own pros and cons and it’s up to you to figure out how they work and what to use them for.

Of course, there are already a few fan sites that you can use to get detailed stats on each unit.

Another feature that makes Lordz.io stand out is that each army has a general that commands it. If you happen to kill the general in battle, you can commandeer the entire army. That’s right. You literally steal their units if your own army is big enough. This is why a battle can swing either way.

And then there’s the alliance feature. You’ll want to group up with some other players because it’s very difficult to survive by yourself. You can chat with other plays and find a clan to join so you have some allies who can help you out if you get attacked. This is especially important at the beginning of the game.

You should also choose an underpopulated server for better chances of winning and an even playing ground against other players.

The game usually lends it hat towards giant armies. The players with the biggest armies usually win- whether in a group or solo.

Sure, you could be sneaky with a small group of soldiers, but having a massive army nearly always wins every single time. You need to be strategic with your soldiers though- split pushing and attacking at the right times are key factors to winning the game.
